Not having another one so purely hypothetical, but I just found myself thinking how nice the name Brian sounds. What do you think of Brian for a baby boy?

Ok at least a few people can see what I mean, not totally insane then. Oddly my first association is with the Magic Roundabout. My DC's name is one of those "until recently only a very old person's name" names too. Not having any more but I might just save Brian for a future cat :).

I knew someone who was called Brian, as was his Dad, his grandfather and his great grandfather.
I asked him what happens if you have a daughter?

He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy!

Brian. Go for it.

I agree with the nasal hair clippers comment. Keep your baby Brian hypothetical, OP. Though assuredly it will come round again in time, and we will snort exactly as our parents did when they started meeting babies called Elsie and Bertie and Archie.

I don't mind it but I'd spell it Bryan.

SlightF0x · 04/11/2015 23:43

no to Brian. It's so nerdy and banal. Brothers Martin and Neil.

But Bruce? I like that.

There's always Dougal or Zebedee...

Bryan is DS1's second name. He has a very out there first name so I wanted to give him an option if he really couldn't live with my choice Grin as it turns out he really owns his unusual first name, but I think he could own Bryan too. He is fifteen

It has remained steadily popular in America; I think it has rather less beige connotations there.

One of Dumbledores middle names. Totally fine! Grin

I loved Brian Lane from New Tricks -- such a crazy old man, his nonsense always cracked me up.
