Thank you all- and rainbow the toilet paper comment made me laugh. I always thought i would give my kids quite unusual names- not ridiculous ones, just not mainstream ones and now it seems like both names i like best- finn and theo- are fairly common now, as in popular. My concern about 'in' names os that they can soon sound 'dated' a few years on... eh Harvey and Freya which are both lovely names were v popular a few years ago and then seemed to die a death somewhat. Not sure if I am making sense!

VenusVanDamme I agree that is lovely if your child is going to be blond/ fair. Mine definitely isnt so I guess the meaning is null and void for us! Theodore means gift of god which is nice... just dont love anything really...

Cian, by a mile. Theo is zzzz...too many around.

Ciar or Ciaran are quite nice too!

Ham69 · 01/11/2015 14:43

Theo is most certainly NOT zzzzz and I only know one my gorgeous DS

IoraRua · 01/11/2015 15:08

Fine then, it isn't zzz to you and I'm sure your son is lovely. It's still dull to me.
But then, I'm sure some of my potential names would be dull to you!

Actually I forgot about Finn - fine, again not my cup of tea. My second favourite I think.

I'd go for Theo. I hear Cian! being shouted too much by people I wouldn't want my kid to learn from. Finn is nice but pretty common.

Cian and Finn are both lovely classic Irish names.

Theo is nice but ultra popular right now.
