Even if you dislike all three, would you please tell me which you prefer? Thanks.

Love Hector. Far prefer Wilfred to Wilbur. Don't like Albert at all.

Bombaybunty · 22/10/2015 21:36

Hector is a brilliant name, much nicer than the others!

LoveAndHate · 22/10/2015 21:36

Thank you. We love Hector too. My family hates it. They also despise Wilbur and almost vomited over the suggestion of Walter.

What am I to do?

Sorry not keen on them, like others I could go for Albert at a push. They all feel a bit like you're trying hard to be different. Just my opinion...

MyGastIsFlabbered · 22/10/2015 21:49

I've got an Albert who is nicknamed Bertie so that gets my vote (he's 3, gorgeous & really suits his name!)

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 22/10/2015 22:20

Hector.

Followed by wilbur

As long as he doesn't have a brother called Orville...

Walter was the wet character in Dennis the menace!

Sophronia · 22/10/2015 22:26

I like Albert and Hector, think I slightly prefer Albert.

BondJayneBond · 22/10/2015 22:27

Albert. You could have Albie or Bertie for a nickname.

Huntthepigsear · 22/10/2015 22:32

I met an 80 year old Albert the other day. He was great and it made me think that I would like his name for a son, except I'm never, ever having any more. Grin I would use Bert as the nn.

LoveAndHate · 22/10/2015 22:44

I do like Bert, just not Bertie.

My cousin has a Wilbur, and he's still Wilbur after 4 years, not Will! Everyone raised their eyebrows at it a bit when he was born, but now it's just a normal name :)

LoveAndHate · 22/10/2015 23:00

I think it's more during our teenage years we acquire nicknames, no?

myghastisflabbered I have a gorgeous Albert ( Albie) aswell, mines 8 and he's lovely although very cheeky Smile

Love STOP running names past your family! Their opinion simply doesn't matter and when a name belongs to a child they are instantly less sneering. Or they don't do it in front of you at least!

Pick a name you and your partner love, don't tell anyone till after its born!

LoveAndHate · 23/10/2015 08:34

I think that's good advice.

We've decided on Ezra Grin

BreeVDKamp · 23/10/2015 13:43

Ezra???? WOW!! Completely different to your original ideas! Looove Ezra.

LoveAndHate · 23/10/2015 14:45

Oh, thank you, Bree! I've had to fight for it, as DH vetoed Jonah, Solomon, Lucius and Elijah as 'too biblical' Hmm

Thanks to all for your responses.

I love Wilbur (and like Mummamayhem I love Wilfred more, but if that's your ex I'm not sure it will fly with your OH!)

Pagetta · 23/10/2015 15:16

I love albert - top of my boys list at the minute. I like traditional names with options - bertie or albie is cute for a baby, Al is a great young man's name, and Albert is a really strong name.

I love Hector as well - and atticus - but i don't think we are trendy enough to get away with either of them!

Wilbur probably my least favourite but Wilf is a nice shortening of it. Walter is ok, but very american and a bit breaking bad (in my mind!)

Ham69 · 23/10/2015 18:00

Brilliant choice, Ezra's such a cool name. DS's friend has that name and he really suits it and is a lovely boy. Loved Wilbur too!

Nataleejah · 23/10/2015 19:27

I like Hector

hels71 · 23/10/2015 19:47

I like Hector best.

possum18 · 23/10/2015 20:07

Hector automatically makes me think of Hectors House which brings a huge smile to my face! Love it!

hackedoffnow · 23/10/2015 20:08

Albert, Albert, Albert!

Mouthfulofquiz · 23/10/2015 20:09

Hector is a fantastic classical name. It's my favourite of the three. Albert is okay but everyone will call him Bertie (which will just lump him in with the Teddies, Freddies, Alfies etc)
