Ok, we have one name for each and very very stuck. What do you think of either:

Genevieve
Sebastian

We like them both, DH not 100% on girls choice but I am stumped on what to add to the list. Can you offer any suggestions?

I know an Imogen with a Madeleine as a sister

I like Madeleine grace

SmugairleRoin · 29/09/2015 13:36

Madeline is lovely.
Genevieve...I like it but think it would be inevitably shortened to Evie which I don't like!
Sebastian is grand. Op I am guessing you like names with lots of syllables!

Beatrice, Laurel, Hermione, Rachel, Susannah, Lucille, Rosalie, Rosalind Evangeline, Stella, Marguerite?

Or Arthur, Timothy, Christopher, Nathaniel, Isaiah, Matthias, Jeremiah?

Dellabob123 · 29/09/2015 14:41

ha ha smug yes. Its just our surname is a short one syllable name beginning with 'C'.

Looking for something classic but not common and not averse to unusual but not whacky.

Isaiah is quite interesting - what would you shorten it to? I don't know any?

I think you're right to use the longer names then with a shorter surname - it balances nicely.

I've never met an Isaiah either - seen it on here and thought it was nice. Could shorten to Izz possibly? Ishmael is similar too.

You might also like Alessandra, Sandrine, Angelina, Liliana, Juliet, Veronica, Emilia, Christina, Gabriella, Caroline?

Or Adrian, Gabriel, Dominic, Gideon, Jonathan, Lionel, Julian, Anthony, Francis, Damian, Fabian, Benjamin and Elijah.

I like both Genevieve and Sebastian and they go well with Imogen.

Isaiah could be Zai. (Like Si for Simon.) In America, I think it's usually shortened to Ike.

I like Genevieve. It could be shortened to Jenny or Vee, if you don't like Evie. Or just Eve.

One of the Imogens that I know has a sister called Ursula.

ashesandfire · 29/09/2015 15:24

I like Genevieve a lot but it would bug me that it starts with the same syllable sound that Imogen ends with?! I don't know, I'm an Imogen and people have shortened it to Gen before which Genevieve could also be shortened to.
Juliet, Harriet, Bryony, Madeleine, Adelaide, Meredith, Caroline, Cassia, Susannah, Rosanna, Tabitha, Jemima, Arabella, Mirabelle, Eloise, Louisa, Sylvia, Hazel, Eliza, Clara, Alice, Florence, Felicity, Cecily?

StDogolphin · 29/09/2015 16:06

Lydia
Harriet

Toby
Kit

Ooh, some interesting names coming out that I would never have thought of! Madeleine and felicity and Isaiah. Ursula is very cool. Does that get shortened?

I know an Imogen with a sister Genevieve! Other sisters of Imogens that I know are Ava, Miranda, Eleanor, Freya and Tabitha.

I think Sebastian goes really well with Imogen.
