Im pregnant with my 3rd and have a boys name but struggling with girls names! So would you call a girl Olive if you already had an Eve? My other daughter is called Lily. I love the name Olive!

Eve and Olive will be 17 months apart so more important that they go ok together as Lily is 12 if you see what I mean

Jw35 · 27/09/2015 16:39

Lily, Eve & Olive = very nice sibset IMO.

I really dislike Olive and think Eve and Olive just don't go together for some reason. Too many vowels or something, I don't know what it is! Lily and Eve are both such gorgeous names tho.

playftseforme · 28/09/2015 00:53

As long as you don't shorten Olive to Livvy - I know one Olive and one Olivia who have this nn. Then Eve and Livvy would be a bit samey.Even worse if Eve ends up as Evie Grin

Ipushedmygrannyaffabus · 28/09/2015 10:40

I,ve realised what it is - the "ee" sound in Eve and "oh" sound from Olive round like the sound a donkey makes. But then, how often would you actually be saying "Eve Olive"

mrsschu · 28/09/2015 10:46

Not a fan of Olive but it does go with Eve.

Jw35 · 29/09/2015 14:45

Thanks all. I think I might call her Mia Olive instead. Lily, Eve and Mia?
I love Olive but it's not very fashionable and I'm worried it doesn't work very well. Eve's middle name is Hazel so the two names would go together nicely I think- Eve Hazel and Mia Olive.

If Olive got shortened to Liv or Livvy, you'd have Eve, Lily, Liv(vy}. Which sound beautiful but much too similar. You'd forever be saying 'No, I was shouting for Lily not Livvy' or 'Eve not Liv',

Jw35 · 29/09/2015 14:55

It's funny I hadn't even considered Livvy as a nn but you're absolutely right! Glad I asked now!

Lily, Eve & Mia go beautifully together without being matchy-matchy and Olive makes a lovely middle name for Mia as you love it :)

Sophronia · 30/09/2015 13:08

I much prefer Olive to Mia.

Posey01 · 30/09/2015 16:08

LOVE Olive :) Beautiful name.
