Boys name to go with Georgina

I recently asked about Asher and the feedback a lot of you gave was that it doesn't go with my daughters name, Georgina.

Whilst I'm still undecided about how much that matters to me, I'm interested to hear your suggestions for what Georgina's brother should be called.

Our criteria (and why we love the name Georgina) are: a name that doesn't chart highly in the popularity listings but is easily recognised and it should have a strong nickname option (or two).

Current thinking alongside Asher (Ash) is Fletcher (Fletch), Barnaby (Barney), Casper (Cas). But there must be more! Thanks in anticipation!

Of your list I like Barnaby/Barney

Oh and

Zachary (Zach)

And what about Ashley/Ash (more traditional than Asher)

Gummibaers · 03/09/2015 13:44

I like Barnaby/Barney from your list. Or how about Quentin/Quinn or Dominic/Dom? I wouldn't worry too much about nicknames, they evolve, often unrelated to the name, so just choose a name you love!

SmugairleRoin · 03/09/2015 19:45

Oh no not Barnaby or Caspar.
Op, if you like Asher, go for Asher. Your DC will spend most of their lives doing separate things, you don't necessarily need matchy name.

I don't mind Fletcher.
Suggestions: Elijah, Caleb, Mason, Hunter, Ezra, Thomas, Michael, Jared, Aaron...just a few different kinds there!

Harry esp if she goes by George

Barnaby probably goes the best and it's nice - Barny is good as NN.

What about:

Sylvester
Austin
Douglas
Nicolas
Lawrence
Frederick
Roderick
Dorian
Miles

Since this is my name, so I commend you on making an excellent choice Wine

At the risk of outing myself, my brother is a Jamie (not actually a nickname, but a lot of people think it's short for James), and I also went to school with another Georgina and her brother's name was William (Will)

One caveat though - my mum did used to get our names muddled up fairly often, but after a while you get used to responding to Georjamie Wink
