Am I the only person who thought it was

Ranulph finnes?

We know a Ralph (rafe) who is about 9 now. Cute kid. Cute name.

ouryve · 28/08/2015 00:09

There is both Ranulf of the give Mr Grylls a run for his money variety and Ralph of the harry potter films and most definitely not to be confused with Joseph with the sexy shoulders in Shakespeare in Love.

ouryve · 28/08/2015 00:10

Yes, that is Joseph Alberic Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes

ouryve · 28/08/2015 00:12

sorry, Ranulph. Tired, now.

wafflyversatile · 28/08/2015 00:14

Oh, that threw me!

According to youtube(!)

Ranulph is pronounce Ralf

and Ralph is is pronounce Rafe!

This actually sounds more like Raith to me. [brain explodes]

orchidnap · 29/08/2015 00:11

Sorry I completely misread, I thought you meant Ralph would get spelled as Ralf by mistake which is why I couldn't understand why anyone would as Ralph is more usual :)

Arsenic · 29/08/2015 00:23

Ranulph is pronounced how? Confused

The problem with all this Ranulph/Ralph/Raef stuff is that it comes across to 95% of the population as pretentious poppycock, which might well be completely unfair/misguided/silly, but there it is.

SniffsAndSneezes · 29/08/2015 01:02

I've been saying Ralph Lauren wrong all this time...

Behooven · 29/08/2015 01:24

Hahahahahaha,.......disappears over the horizon in a pretentious manner
