Olivia, Elodie or Eloise...

These are our favourite three girls names for our DC-to-be but we're having difficulty choosing between them.

DD is Naomi.

Please help us decide! All opinions welcome. It would be a bonus if you could suggest middle names too - we're also struggling with those.

Thank you :)

Love Elodie and Eloise (but personally prefer Eloisa- biased though)

Never liked Olivia I find it a very harsh name to say. (Weirdly all the Olivia's I have known has been lovely and sweet so to me do not suit their names)

Theresomethingaboutdairy · 17/08/2015 22:38

I love Olivia with Rose as a middle name. Second choice would be Elodie, not as keen on Eloise as I used to be although it's a perfectly nice name. All lovely choices, have fun choosing!

blueistheonlycolourwefeel · 17/08/2015 22:39

I like Elodie.

EmpressKnowsWhereHerTowelIs · 17/08/2015 22:39

All lovely.

Eloise Anne
Elodie Grace
Olivia Mary

Stingingthistle · 17/08/2015 22:39

Eloise

Naomi and Eloise sound really great together.

Middles...

Eloise Faye
Eloise Hannah
Eloise Martha
Eloise Lily
Eloise Lydia
Eloise Violet
Eloise Caroline
Eloise Charlotte
Eloise Thea
Eloise Miriam
Eloise Penelope
Eloise Katherine
Eloise Greta

Any take your fancy?

Daphnedolittle · 17/08/2015 22:51

Eloise, by far!

DramaAlpaca · 17/08/2015 22:53

All lovely, but my favourite is Eloise.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 17/08/2015 22:56

Olivia.

Sophronia · 17/08/2015 22:57

I like Naomi and Olivia.

Ipushedmygrannyaffabus · 17/08/2015 23:00

Naomi is gorgeous! I like all 3 of your names for the new baby but Elodie to me just sounds like someone mispronouncing melody.

Olivia is sooo popular, I would probably go for Eloise.

Eloise Aurora
Eloise Dawn
Eloise Ruth

sticklebrickstickle · 17/08/2015 23:02

My DD is Elodie so I may be biased when I say it's my favourite.

Olivia and Eloise were also on the shortlist though and in the end it was between Elodie and Eloise. Funnily enough Naomi was one of the names on our list had DS been another DD too. So you have a good choice in names!

JoanJettPack · 17/08/2015 23:10

Eloise. My favourite girls name ever!

Olivia is very common where I live and Elodie just reminds me of Melody.

barbecue · 17/08/2015 23:53

Olivia Juliet
Olivia Catherine
Olivia Seren
Olivia Ruby
Olivia Jasmine

ashesandfire · 18/08/2015 00:08

Love Naomi. Love Elodie and Eloise! Two gorgeous favourites of mine. Olivia is sooo popular IME. Not quite as special.
Elodie is maybe a little rhymey with Naomi? So I'd pick Eloise.

Eloise Joy
Eloise Cassandra
Eloise Juliet
Eloise Claire
Eloise Megan
Eloise Willow
Eloise Hope
Eloise Charlotte
Eloise Miranda
Eloise Cora
Eloise Tamsin
Eloise Heather

BastardGoDarkly · 18/08/2015 00:17

I've got an Eloise Elizabeth! Elizabeth as a middle name goes back years in our family though. I love her name, and haven't shortened it, even though people keep asking me what I call her for short Hmm

HoneyDragon · 18/08/2015 00:22

You don't abbreviate Eloise's. You wholly avoid inflicting an abbreviation on a young Eloise until such a time as they are old enough and able to pointedly and violently death glare at anyone attempting to do this, themselves.

WishIWasWonderwoman · 18/08/2015 05:50

I would go with Eloise.

Love the name Olivia but it is so popular! Elodie is nice but a lifetime of corrections with Melody/Elodie etc and I think Eloise is just a teeny tiny bit nicer.

Eloise is just a great name! And it has some nice nicknames.

ch1134 · 18/08/2015 06:36

I love Olivia.
Eloise goes well with Naomi.

MamaLazarou · 18/08/2015 12:15

Eloise, definitely. Olivia is far too popular.

MamaLazarou · 18/08/2015 12:15

Naomi is beautiful, by the way Smile

RedToothBrush · 18/08/2015 12:31

Elodie screams this decade, whereas Eloise which has fallen out of favour a bit is a bit more timeless.

Olivia again screams this decade and is currently the second most popular girls name which, for me at least, crosses it off the list. You might be fine with that though.

Eloise and Naomi are both pretty and fairly hard to place time wise and are just different enough without being quirky in any way.

SmugairleRoin · 18/08/2015 15:38

Olivia is too popular imo.

Elodie and Eloise are both nice but I wouldn't be keen on an El name as I think she could end up being called Ellie - not a huge issue though. Of the two I prefer Eloise.

I heard of Ellaria a while back which I thought was quite pretty.

Naomi is beautiful!

RiverTam · 18/08/2015 15:40

Eloise. Lovely name and a great song by The Damned!

ilovesprouts · 18/08/2015 15:41

my grandaughters an olivia shes blonde hair blue eyes shes beautifull her middle name is rose.proud mammar here x

Glindathegoodwitch · 18/08/2015 15:46

All beautiful names however Olivia is very popular (if this would be a concern for you?)

I love Elodie but agree that some people would never get over the melody/elodie confusion.

I think that on that basis I would go with Eloise. It sounds elegant and timeless...

I couldn't have either as DD already as an El.... name Sad
