I was born in the late 60s and I don't think the names were very different from the 70s ones that have been listed.
In my school the most popular girls' names were probably Jane, Cla(i)re, Louise, Karen, Sarah, Rachel, Mandy, Julie, Joanne, Michelle, Samantha, Sally, Catherine and variants, Helen, Nicola.
Boys - Andrew, Mark, David, Simon, Michael, Robert, Richard, Stephen, Philip, Paul, John, Gary, Sean, Ian, Graham, Jonathan, Nicholas, Matthew.
My mum and dad's generation seem to have most commonly been called things like Sheila, Shirley, Angela, Dorothy, Audrey, Jean, Janet, Marion, Maureen, Wendy, Mary, Carol and for the men things like Brian, Gordon, Alan, Tony, Peter, Eric, but also quite a lot of the same names the boys of my age were using. I think men's names didn't change as much until recently.
I'm not doing my children's generation as I had them quite late in life and it would skew the sample!
