Would you call him Sin or Bad for short?

CrystalMcPistol · 12/08/2015 10:39

Don't go for it OP, it really isn't fine.

TheHouseOnBellSt · 12/08/2015 10:41

Oh I like it!

But then I also like Bunty, so my opinion can't be trusted.

Marcipex · 12/08/2015 10:47

Did you want a sailor name?

Jack
Hawkin
Atlantis
Peregrine

Er...

CrystalMcPistol · 12/08/2015 10:50

Horatio Nelson.

CrystalMcPistol · 12/08/2015 10:51

Blackbeard

CrystalMcPistol · 12/08/2015 10:51

Long John Silver

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 12/08/2015 10:51

No from me.

Sin and Bad, not great connotations for a baby.

Marcipex · 12/08/2015 10:56

Hornblower?

Marcipex · 12/08/2015 10:57

Drake
Francis

bluejeanswhiteshirt · 12/08/2015 10:57

Oh my goodness, tell me you're joking?

scrivette · 12/08/2015 11:04

I like unusual names - but I think that's too unusual!

Makes me think of Sinbad the Sailor.

scrivette · 12/08/2015 11:04

And the two words used to make it just seem so harsh for a child - Sin and Bad.

DopeyDawg · 12/08/2015 11:11

"Would you call him Sin or Bad for short?"

^ this, from ImperiallBlether

What a 'load' to give a child.

He might live up to his name??? Shock

Oliversmumsarmy · 12/08/2015 11:12

I know a Tarzan, won't say what his brother is called but lets just say if he had a sister she would be called Cat Woman

SmugairleRoin · 12/08/2015 11:13

Exactly, your nickname options are sin and bad. And even if you don't use them, other people will!

Sorry op but this name really made me Grin
Go around calling yourself Sinbad for a week first and see if you like being called it. But it's a no from me.

swimmerforlife · 12/08/2015 12:01

God no. It is truly an awful name with awful connotations like "sin" in the name.

Even though Brookside was axed years ago (early 2000s IIRC) from what I remember Sinbad was an iconic character, I immediately first thought of the fat scouser and I was never a massive fan.

reuset · 12/08/2015 12:04

And everyone loves a sailor

Grin
marinacortina · 12/08/2015 12:55

I vaguely remember the reason the Brookside window-cleaner was called Sinbad.

Apparently he never cleaned into the corners of the windows, he just did a quick circular wipe with his cloth, like it was a ship's porthole. So he got nickname after Sinbad the Sailor.

How about Jonah?

aoife24 · 12/08/2015 12:57

Yeah, tubby wee chap from Brookside with an accent you could strip paint with.

PurpleDaisies · 12/08/2015 13:00

Is this a comedy thread? I can't quite tell...

That doesn't bode well if you're serious about Sinbad.

5446 · 12/08/2015 13:14

Oh god no.

My name is one letter removed from this and always used to get called this.

Awful.

Badgerwife · 12/08/2015 13:17

mwahahaha at 'everyone loves a sailor' Grin

I think not.
