I'm in love with it. Slightly worried that it's my hormones though. My DH really likes it too.
Is it too unusual? I know there are still strong connotations with "the Bear" in my parents generation but I don't really think of that.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Ivegottogo · 06/08/2015 23:17

No, far too posh for me. And wet.

cosmicglittergirl · 06/08/2015 23:20

I have two (!) in my family (DH's side), and although they are lovely people, I can't get on board with the name. I feel like ivegottago does.

Quasilulu · 07/08/2015 01:50

Wet sorry. Like Percy a chinless wonder name.

Sunshineandwaves · 07/08/2015 04:47

I really like it!

DurhamDurham · 07/08/2015 04:55

I think it's awful both for a baby and a grown man.

rainbowstardrops · 07/08/2015 04:57

I'm with caravanista. I think of the bear and then upper-class snobs. Sorry Flowers

HeadingHome · 07/08/2015 05:17

I really it. Cute for a baby, cool for a teenager, charming for a adult.

HeadingHome · 07/08/2015 05:17

*an adult. Hmm

almapudden · 07/08/2015 05:35

I think it's a lovely name.

Barbarasmum · 07/08/2015 05:49

No, caravanista, I loathe it too - instant bullying.

timeforabrewnow · 07/08/2015 05:50

Rupert the bear is fine but otherwise it just conjures up upper class twits

What she said ^^

Kiwiinkits · 07/08/2015 05:59

YY, posh and wet.

Inevitably the child will be lispy and call himself Woopert.

sebsmummy1 · 07/08/2015 06:29

I don't like it either, sorry.

TheDowagerCuntess · 07/08/2015 06:50

There's quite a few about these days, so it's clearly on the up.

YonicScrewdriver · 07/08/2015 06:57

I like it.

BikeRunSki · 07/08/2015 07:59

DH uses it as slang for "public school boy", and not really in a kind way or jokey way. Don't know how widespread this is.

queentroutoftroutss · 07/08/2015 08:13

It just reminds me of

queentroutoftroutss · 07/08/2015 08:15

It just reminds me of Rupert the bear or Rupert Murdoch, i also think it sounds awfully posh, I much prefer Reuben.

MulberryHandbag · 07/08/2015 08:15

Not keen. I think it's too self-consciously UM class.

MulberryHandbag · 07/08/2015 08:18

I also think it has become a little too. arriviste these days.

But he'll if you like it go for it.

MulberryHandbag · 07/08/2015 08:18

Hell not he'll

bruffin · 07/08/2015 08:19

The only Rupert I know is a huge, black bouncer, definitely not posh and wet!

scarletforya · 07/08/2015 08:20

Posh and wet, sorry.
