Please could you help us decide as we literally have a few weeks before baby is about to arrive! We don't know the gender and have decided on a boys name but can't decide a girl name. The two we have narrowed it down to are Lila and Miraya - please could you vote for either one or any other suggestions welcome!

Older dd is Eva...

lila is my name and i love it, hope this helps!

Snooksbury · 02/08/2015 22:53

Lila gets my vote too but both are nice.

Diggum · 02/08/2015 22:57

Miraya is beautiful. Is it pronounced mir-eye-ya or as it's written (mir-ay-ya)? If the latter then an even more emphatic yes!

RedRobin1 · 02/08/2015 22:57

I forgot to add it would be Lila pronounced as Leela and not ly-la.

And yes Miraya is pronounced as Mir-aa-ya

Are those names Hindu ? That's what your title thread says. Never heard of them before but lila is very pretty!

Inkymess · 02/08/2015 23:02

Love both but 2nd gets my vote

ziggyziggy · 02/08/2015 23:06

what is your boys name choice, out of curiosity? (if you are prepared to tell!).

helentheheron · 02/08/2015 23:09

They are both lovely.

I would instinctively pronounce Lila as Lye-la not Leela.

LondonRocks · 02/08/2015 23:09

Lila is nice but she'll get her fair share of people calling her Ly-la (which is lovely, in any case)

Miraya is pretty

Snooksbury · 02/08/2015 23:40

Why not go for Leela if that's how you want the pronounciation? If Lila I think the majority of people would pronounce it Ly-la in the UK

Sophronia · 03/08/2015 00:26

I would have automatically pronounced Miraya as mih-ray-a rather than mir-aa-ya and Lila as ly-la.

horsewalksintoabar · 03/08/2015 00:34

Sharda is a Hindi name which I've always found beautiful. Miraya is beautiful too.

WishIWasWonderwoman · 03/08/2015 00:37

Both are beautiful!

I would think Lila would get mispronounced a lot but only when meeting people for the first time.

But then again Miraya might too.

Not helpful, I know, but they're both lovely names. I don't think you can go wrong choosing between them.

PallasCat · 03/08/2015 16:06

Both lovely. Leaning towards Miraya - probably because I've never seen or heard it before and think it's ace. Congratulations on your forthcoming arrival!

RedRobin1 · 03/08/2015 19:26

Thanks for all the votes so far! Really helping us decide. We are swaying more towards Lila though but perhaps changing the spelling to Leela...

Bumping for more votes or suggestions
