How inconvenient is it to have two middle names?

Hi ladies

I'm due my first child on Friday. DH and I have decided on a first name and DH has 90% agreed to having my brother's name as a middle name (my niece has my name as middle name and I'd like to return the tradition.) DH would like to add a second middle name, I'm happy enough with the name choice but concerned about it being inconvenient on forms etc to have a second middle name. Any thoughts?

I have two, it's never been a problem. On forms I just put them both in the middle name box.

Hi

I have two middle names and it is rarely an issue to be honest. The nhs it system can't cope but everything else is fine. I've give my daughter two middle names too.

It's fine. My DS4 has 4 names then surname because his older 3 brothers all chose one Smile

I have 2 middle names. It's a non issue. If there is only one box for middle names, I either squeeze both in there or if it's tiny just use my middle initials.

Only time I've seen it be a problem is on stupid forms that want full everything, but then won't give you enough boxes.

So, I'd stay clear of Alexandria Josephine Arabella jones-smith

It's fine, it just adds gravitates when you have to shout their entire name out across the park as you see them doing something they ought not to be.

Its never a problem in the UK, but in the US its a PITA, because they only EVER have space for one! But its a very minor issue for me. I like having two Grin

Watching with interest . Currently expecting dc3 and first two have one middle name but I'd like this one to have two .

Me, and DD have 2 middle names and MIL has 3 (and we share a double barreled surname!). You get used to having a long name, it's rarely a problem.

I know a child with two middle names and a double barrelled surname! What's crazy is that both of her siblings have the same arrangement as well!

My ds has 3 middle names and he thinks it's really cool. The bank can't cope with all his initials but other than that it's never been an issue.

I have two middle names, as do my DCs. So far, the only impact it has had on my life is that my bank card only shows my first middle initial, which is no problem in any shape or form.

For 99% of most peoples' lives, they never use their middle name(s) so I can't see how it would be inconvenient. Ok there may be one occasion per year where they need to write their middle names on a form but that's about it! I very often don't even list my middle name unless it's for something like a passport application.

My ds has two. He likes them.
He also has a hyphenated surname.

He says we should have given him more names!
Never been a problem for him.

Dd on the other hand, has a welsh middle name.
How do you spell that?
How do you say that?
Why did you chose that?...

Glad she didn't get two!

I have two middle names, so do my children.
The forms aren't too bad really, I only went through a few periods of disliking having such a long name during exams as they never make the box big enough!

I gave my son two middle names and it has been fine so far.

A previous poster mentioned that the NHS can't handle it. I've actually found that not to be consistently true - sometimes both of his names are included in his letters and other time they drop one... Seems very random but doesn't really bother me (so far at least!).

One of my dc has a hyphenated mide name, one has one and the other two have two middle names. Dh has 3. Only time it's a problem is when dh runs out of space for all his names.

I love having two middle names. It's caused a problem, mine rarely fit on forms (they're both very long) so I just leave one out or squeeze the last few letters on the end. Never been an issue and it gives me choice over which name I useSmile

I have 3 middle names. It isn't a problem at all.
