I am 33 weeks pregnant expecting a boy....me and my husband love the name Rudy....just wanted feedback on what people think as we haven't told friends and family and its not the sort of name you hear often....although that's what I love about it! ???? xxx

I love it!! It was on my shortlist for a boy

Fugghetaboutit · 22/06/2015 08:03

It's very Stoke Newington Smile

Snowflake15 · 22/06/2015 08:36

I like it!

Sophronia · 22/06/2015 10:36

I like it too!

WorldsBiggestGrotbag · 22/06/2015 10:38

I don't think it's as 'different' as you think, I know a few under 10.

Zakken · 22/06/2015 11:53

I'd go with Rudolph or Rudolf, fabulous name redolent of European dukes and counts. And Rudolph Valentino!

Yeah, there's the reindeer thing, but he could have some fun with that.

PipAndPosey · 22/06/2015 11:57

Reminds me too much of Rudy Guiliani I'm afraid!

Zakken · 22/06/2015 12:02

Don't know who he is.

shitebag · 22/06/2015 12:14

I like it :)

I used to look after a little boy called Rudy, never thought anything of it tbh. He's 9 now and like all children his name suits him fine and he's never been teased about it.

On a similar vein Ruairi was on our short list for #2 and I'm gutted I never got to use it, although she suits her name better really :o

Stepawayfromthezebras · 22/06/2015 12:15

I think it's great :)

AlmaMartyr · 22/06/2015 12:16

I know a little Rudy, never even thought of 'rude' and he doesn't get teased at all. Lovely name.

reuset · 22/06/2015 12:42

I think it's fine, but as short for Rudolph, or Rudyard, or something. Actually not sure those are personal favourites Grin Rupert is another nice similar name

Sounding similar to the popular Ruby would be another possible consideration

MerryMarigold · 22/06/2015 12:43

I really like it. I have a Jude though, who gets called Judy as a nickname or indeed, Rudy (if he's being rude).

ch1134 · 22/06/2015 21:57

I like it and I love the specials song

BikeRunSki · 22/06/2015 22:00

Stop your messing around

squareheadcut · 22/06/2015 22:07

Bad idea.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/06/2015 22:09

I don't dislike it.

Leaflitter · 22/06/2015 22:12

Think it's awful, sorry.

RiverTam · 22/06/2015 22:15

I like it.

Commander · 22/06/2015 23:01

I love it, it was on our short list, not quite brave enough to go with it but still think it's a great name and it's becoming more popular now.

DialsMavis · 22/06/2015 23:03

I like it Smile

Candycoco · 22/06/2015 23:20

I LOVE it ????

Same as boardblond but my grandfather used a different spelling. So I like the name, as I have good memories of him. :)

buntingbingo · 23/06/2015 12:36

We had a boy in school called Rudy. Can't recall anyone making any comments about his name. I like it!
