Why no Richards?

I like the name Richard. I have never met a Richard I don't like. Why ar eno babies called this any more? Is it due a resurgence?

I have a 2 year old Richard, named after his late grandfather, we call him Richie. We love it

depends I know a few Christophers shortened to Chris but there are also alot of my generation with the name
