Help, she's here and still undecided!

We welcomed DD3 two days ago and were convinced that once we met her it would be obvious which of the names on our shortlist would be the "right" one...but are still undecided and would love your thoughts. DD1 & 2 are Philippa and Beatrice and the shortlist is:

Miranda (nn Miri or Annie)
Nancy (but don't like possible shortening to Nan or Nance possibly by others)
Marianne
Penelope (nn Penny)
Caroline (nn. Carrie)

Alternative suggestions welcome, thank you!

Marianne... Although I'm biased as this is my DD1 name :) congrats

DinosaursRoar · 14/06/2015 17:58

I really like Penelope and it feels very similar to Philippa with the sort of "posh 70s/80s girl" name! Is Philippa a Pip/Pippa and Beatrice a Bea? As "Pippa, Bea and Penny" sounds delightful!

Sophronia · 14/06/2015 18:06

Caroline or Marianne

MollieCoddler · 14/06/2015 18:09

Marianne or Caroline

All lovely though

MrsSchadenfreude · 14/06/2015 18:12

Marianne.

PontyGirl · 14/06/2015 19:29

Nancy

Congratulations Thanks your older DDs have beautiful names too

BadHenry · 14/06/2015 19:56

Nancy is wonderful

WorldsBiggestGrotbag · 14/06/2015 20:00

Miranda

TravellingHopefully12 · 15/06/2015 22:42

I love Marianne

KenDoddsDadsDog · 15/06/2015 22:45

Caroline or Nancy

hawkmcqueen · 15/06/2015 22:45

Marianne or Caroline.
I also give you Mariella

Bjn765 · 15/06/2015 22:48

Miranda. Make sure you let us know what you decide.

capercaillie · 15/06/2015 22:51

I think marianne or Caroline go best with the siblings!

Alternative - Susannah?

BagsyThisName · 15/06/2015 22:53

Marianne is my favourite.

Or what about Constance (Connie), Elizabeth (Betsy), Jemima, Millicent, Tabitha, Verity

297 · 15/06/2015 22:54

I second Mariella! Beautiful name

PinkPearlClutcher · 15/06/2015 22:55

They're all beautiful (I usually really dislike MN names!), but I particuarly like Penelope!

shitebag · 15/06/2015 22:57

Congratulations :o

I like Marrianne on its own and it flows well with the others.

timmyinatizzy · 15/06/2015 22:59

How about Mirianna? Gives you the nn Miri or Anna?

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 15/06/2015 23:02

Congratulations!

I like Marianne. I think that the possibilities for NNs are really nice too.

I do like Caroline, but would think that the NN Caz to be inevitable at some point in life & that would put me off.

I like Penny, but couldn't have two DCs with a P name and one without. It would either have to be all three P's or all three different.

With Miranda, I just can't get past Miranda Hart. I even like Miranda Hart - but still couldn't use the name.

Nancy I've never been a fan of TBH. Not sure why.

marshmallowpies · 15/06/2015 23:03

Marina is nice too, I have a lovely friend with that name.

swancourt · 16/06/2015 15:20

Caroline nn Carrie is really, really lovely with your other names, I think :)

Amyyy27 · 16/06/2015 15:27

I think Penelope (Penny) would go lovely. I also love the suggestion of Josephine.

I would suggest Arabelle/Arabella and Clara.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 16/06/2015 16:01

I like Marianne and think it goes well - your girls have "good strong medieval woman" names. Others that are a bit like that:

Matilda/Maude
Isabella
Celia
Margaret/Marguerite
Alice/Alys
Margery
Johanna

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 16/06/2015 16:01

And massive congratulations by the way! Flowers

NameChange30 · 16/06/2015 16:05

Marianne (lovely) or Miranda
Not Penelope, too similar to Philippa
