Just that really our LIttle girl has a really unusual name, so much so you would struggle to find someone else with the name. I also have an unusual name and would like something completely different for our new addition who too is a girl.
What's the most unusual girls name you have heard or can suggest?

Amaris
Tamar
Zelma

In Scotland there used to be a big tradition of naming the first child after the father regardless of whether it was a boy or a girl. If it was a girl they just added -ina on the end, some more succesfully than others e.g. Georgina. Consequently there are a lot of elderly woman with names such as:

Johnina
Donaldina
Duncanina
Hughina

you could give it a go :o

No you cannot use Xenia. She is a Mumsnet legend. Every time you meet anyone who is on MN they will crack up Smile

It's like calling a baby Mitmoo.

You simply have to use thirza - in honour of my godmother-auntie ( and dd2).

Or jonquil - who I knew as a child and who produces for the bbc now

The name I was drawn to in the cemetery when looking for names for dd1 was hephzibah but I wasn't brave enough.

My friend's DD has an unusual name. I hadn't even heard it before.

Now DD has a girl of the same name in her class.

I have a pretty unusual name too, but at work there were two of us in a department of 6. I'd never met anyone with the same name as me before.

So don't go for unusual for the sake of it, or you'll be gutted if you meet another Grin.

ilovemargaretatwood8931 · 26/05/2015 15:21

Or Ziona? Similar to Xenia, and very nice/ unusual.

florascotia · 26/05/2015 15:47

manic It is probably very different where you live but Eilidh and Morvern are popular 'everyday' names here in Scotland - I know several of each.

Hezekiah is the name of a famously strong and forceful Jewish King in the Old Testament....
