Why are boys names so hard!?

We have tons of time (20 weeks) but I have been thinking about boys names for ages and just can't come up with much. I think we are sorted for a girls name but in general I find them much easier.

Boys names we have sort of shortlisted so far:
Grayson (shorten to Gray)
Quinn (but quite unsure on this one as have heard it more as a girl's name than boy's)
Flynn (I like Fin but a good friend has a Fin)

I want something that isn't common but not too weird - we both have Irish families so it would be nice to have an Irish connection but I don't want an Irish spelling as I get sick of spelling my surname a million times (and it's not even a weird one) so don't want kids to have a name that isn't obvious when you see it how it is pronounced and they have to always explain the spelling.

I also hear a lot of boys names and imagine naughty kids, no idea why!

Think I prefer Findlay or Finnian or Fintan to Flynn but see why you've added that instead since you've discounted Fin. You names all have a surnamey feel so how about.

Thanks for the suggestions, one of them actually is our surname haha - spelt differently though. A couple of them are close family member names so wouldn't use them but 1 or 2 of them I like so will see what hubby thinks!

I really like Grayson, non Gray. I mulled over this for our boy but DH not as keen. We also considered Heath.

Quinlan, as in the architect Quinlan Terry?
Or Quinton? (variant of Quentin)

Grayson's lovely. I'm not keen on Gray. Though of course if you love it, go for it.
A friend has two grandchildren, Cooper and Jackson.
