Hi all,

We're due in a couple of weeks and myself and DH still can't agree on a definite name if baby is a girl. We're down to the final 5; please can you help us decide?

The shortlist is:

Susannah
Sylvia
Camille
Verity
Felicity

Any thoughts?

My favourite would definitely be Sylvia nn Sylvie .

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 10/05/2015 17:16

Susannah for me.

Have your thought about Savannah or Sienna?

And do you like nicknames? Because some of your names might get them quite easily.

tinygigolo · 10/05/2015 17:26

Thanks, we're open to the possibilities of nns and I do like longer girls' names - I think Susie and Fliss are both pretty cute. Trying to stay away from anything too popular though.

I like all of them except Camille (though do quite like Camilla?)

My favourite is Verity. Followed by Felicity then Susannah then Sylvia

IvoryMadonna · 10/05/2015 17:49

I love Susannah, that would an easy choice for me.

honeysucklejasmine · 10/05/2015 17:49

Felicity, lovely name.

MythicalChicken · 10/05/2015 17:50

Verity.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/05/2015 17:53

Lovely list.

My preferences are in this order:

Susannah
Felicity
Verity
Sylvia

With Camille quite a long way down after that.

Sophronia · 10/05/2015 18:14

Susannah, it's beautiful.

NadiaWadia · 10/05/2015 18:34

Agree, Susannah, gorgeous name.

Sylvia and Camille are nice, though.

Felicity I find overly posh, and Verity a little harsh-sounding, but they are fine.

schopenhauer · 10/05/2015 18:40

Verity

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 10/05/2015 18:43

I love Sylvia.

DramaAlpaca · 10/05/2015 18:44

My favourites are Susannah, Verity & Felicity, in that order.

VixxFace · 10/05/2015 18:44

Camille is the best by farrr!

LemonYellowSun · 10/05/2015 19:05

I really like Susannah and Camille out of those.

BeaufortBelle · 10/05/2015 19:10

Verity

CrispyFern · 10/05/2015 19:12

Nice list. I like Camille!
Susannah is also nice.

Hoodedmoron · 10/05/2015 19:12

Felicity is my favourite

ZenNudist · 10/05/2015 19:15

I love Sylvie and Camilla so of your list I'd go for your variants of these names.

wigglesrock · 10/05/2015 19:21

I love Camille, the rest a good bit behind with Verify way down the list

mummybare · 10/05/2015 19:33

Susannah and Felicity are both lovely - I'm also a big fan of long names with much shorter nicknames. Fliss is really nice.

Melonape · 10/05/2015 19:39

If I had to order them:

  1. Felicity - beautiful, under used
  2. Sylvia - Sylvie is very cute
  3. Susannah- Pretty
4.Verity - I like it
  1. Camille - unless you have French roots I wouldn't use it

Other suggestions:
Rosalie
Eleanor
Erin
I know you didn't ask but couldn't resist!

BlueBananas · 10/05/2015 19:43

Any but Susannah
The others are pretty but Susannah comes within the 'Carol/Linda/Pat' category of names IMO

IvoryMadonna · 10/05/2015 19:46

Susan is definitely in that range, but not Susannah.

BlueBananas · 10/05/2015 19:49

Same thing, I wouldn't want there to be any chance if my baby being called Sue
