Considering Peter for a boy - have strong family reasons to chose it and I love it on a boy/teenager/adult but I can't quite see myself introducing a baby as Peter! To me it seems like a name you need to grow into - am I being silly?

Are there any cute nicknames? Pete is fine for a teenager but again I can't imagine a baby Pete!

Best name ever

I just don't get why people worry about names not suiting a baby. They're only babies for a few short months, during which they often acquire a temporary unrelated nickname anyway.

I am planning on peter as a middle name for family reasons! I don't know any little ones but then I don't really know any little people at all I work with a 23 year old pete. And we have lots of polish boys at school that are Piotr that have anglicised it to pronounce peter.
