Dc2 is due in October. We have our 20 week scan in 2 weeks and are hoping to find out sex.

For a DD I quote like Jennifer but is it too 1980's? What other names might I like that I may not of thought of.

Just for info DS is William.

I like it. Lots of variants too with Jenny and Jen.

Jenna might be an alternative for you or even Genevieve.

Congratulations too.

As another child growing up in the 80's, I'm not a fan. Jennifer's were always nice but Jenny's were the girls you would attempt to climb into your locker to avoid! Or maybe that was just my school Grin

sweetpeame · 05/05/2015 08:11

The only Jennifers I know are all early to mid 30's (oh and one who's 22 actually). So it does sound 80's I think (although obviously the one who's 22 was born in the early 90's). I went to school in Ireland with loads of them, it reminds me of names like Sarah, Niamh, Orla, Laura, Claire - the names of other girls I would have gone to school with it! It still sounds fine as a name, prefer it to lots of the "unusual" names people come up with. It just does sound a little dated to my ears.

Wow. Thanks for all the responses.

I've never heard of any of the songs, apart from jenny from the block Blush and I hadn't considered imagen either although I suppose we could shorten it to Jen as well I'd we liked.

Definitely food for thought

Jenny kissed me when we met,
Jumping from the chair she sat in;
Time, you thief, who love to get
Sweets into your list, put that in!
Say I'm weary, say I'm sad,
Say that health and wealth have missed me,
Say I'm growing old, but add,
Jenny kissed me.

Sootgremlin · 06/05/2015 13:08

I was actually just thinking about this name yesterday, that it would be quite fresh and unusual if it was used now. I think it's a lovely name.

mrsdos · 06/05/2015 15:49

I'm a Jennifer, shortened to Jenni (which is always spelt wrong!) and have a brother called William, totally biased but a marvellous choice Grin
totally outed myself
