A middle name for Flora?

I love Rose but it is a bit overly floral Grin I also like Niamh but DH worries people won't be able to pronounce it. I don't like May.

Help!

I like Flora Elizabeth best of those.

You could always add Rose to the end if you really wanted to.

Flora Ann?

We have used family names for all of our middle names and each of our children have 2 - we started with one from each side of the family but had to reuse one middle name for our third boy.

Sausages123 · 29/04/2015 19:59

I love Flora Elizabeth. First thing I thought of

Coastingit · 29/04/2015 20:00

Ooh I like

Flora Elizabeth Rose

But then DS only has one middle name, a bit unjust Grin

I love Flora but my DH said no also due to the margarine connection.

I like Flora Alice the best.

LarrytheCucumber · 29/04/2015 21:57

Aktivia

See I think it will make a comeback, I think it's a generational thing. Plenty far more silly names about. And the current furore about butter being much better for you than margarine anyway will hopefully send them out of business.

I buy Flora but it's never the first thing I think of when someone says the name Flora.

However say Clover and it's all margarine to me but I've never bought it in my life - weird.

But therefore it wouldn't put me of the name Flora at all.

mirren3 · 29/04/2015 22:34

There is a lifeboat near where I live called the Mora Edith, If we had a daughter that would have been her name, so how about Flora Edith. Or if the margarine connection is too much feel free to steal Mora Edith ??

anxiousannie10 · 29/04/2015 23:13

I did think of margarine also. Very sorry.

Marmaladedandelions · 29/04/2015 23:48

My daughter is a Flora (Jacqueline) and I agonised over the margarine!

In the end I loved the name and its meaning so much it didn't matter. If anyone does say 'like the butter' I smile and say 'no, like a meadow in springtime!'

Flora Madeline
Flora Charlotte

I really like Flora

GinIsCalling · 30/04/2015 03:25

I love the name flora, flora elizabeth sounds great to me.
Flora is one of my finalists (currently in hospital being induced!) and I don't care about the margarine thing. i think most people eat butter nowadays, anyway.

mathanxiety · 30/04/2015 06:00

Good thing I read all the way through as I was going to say Flora Madeleine.

Other Suggestions:
Flora Penelope
Flora Juliet
Flora Beatrice
Flora Elspeth
Flora Eilidh
Flora Mairi

Of your three front runners I like Flora Grace the best. Simple and classic.

mathanxiety · 30/04/2015 06:01

Good luck Gin Flowers

Coastingit · 30/04/2015 07:40

Ooh good luck Gin! Thanks

Think I will stick with

Flora Elizabeth Rose

Will discuss with DH and if he thinks the Rose is overkill lengthwise and flowerswise we can lose that.

Thanks all, that was really helpful! I love the name Madeleine but spelling is a pita and it's randomly French to me too, doesn't seem 'us' although it is lovely.

I really like Flora Elizabeth Rose. There's a Firstname Elizabeth Rose in my extended family and I think it's lovely.

Yes it's quite flowery but so is Lily Rose [Allen] and she''s done all right for herself.
