Juno or Luna??

38 weeks pregnant today with DD2. DD1 is Polly. She's that because we were listening to Nirvanas Nevermind and that was that, she was always going to be Polly.

DD2 we have tried to find a name from music we love so that she too has a song. Luna is the last track on Siamese Dream by Smashing Pumpkins. Apart from the musical connection I do really like it. But, I was in a soft play a few months ago and since then have preferred Juno.

Both Luna and Juno fit my criteria of being unusual without being too weird. Imo anyway! I'm not hugely bothered that people will think of Luna Lovegod or the film Juno.

I'm just not sure whether I go with Luna because it fits better or go with Juno on the simple basis of liking it more!

DH happy with both though tends towards Luna. And in helpfully says it's my decision!

Thoughts?

I love Juno.

I know a Juna: would a cross between the two work? If not I prefer Juno massively.

Bonsoir · 23/04/2015 13:13

Both sound like porn stars.

There's always June. Classic and summery and not over-popular. Never been in fashion, so never been out of fashion.

Monica101 · 23/04/2015 13:50

Luna is lovely but I think it's unusable because of lunatic, loony etc

Juno is much better.

Hero is another similar one I like

Hakluyt · 23/04/2015 13:53

Presumably you're not actually going to Polly listen to "her song" any time soon???

PannaDoll · 23/04/2015 15:40

I'd go June rather than Juno or Luna.

BeanCalledPickle · 23/04/2015 19:48

I think you've swayed me towards Juno....

Hi Bean! I love Juno, was on my list for ages, my daughter is called Tuesday named after a Lynyrd skynyrd song.

poppetina · 23/04/2015 20:19

We have a Juno (well, it's her middle name) and her nickname is Pickle. So looking at your username it seems like fate! Smile
Also, Luna is too close to lunatic for me, sorry.

LynetteScavo · 23/04/2015 20:22

Juno.

BeanCalledPickle · 23/04/2015 20:51

What is your Juno's first name out of interest?

I really like Juno. Luna is a little moony crazy for me.

lucywiltshire · 23/04/2015 21:34

What about Lola? Great song too! Agree that Hero goes well with Polly and is a beautiful name

FatSwan · 23/04/2015 21:56

I love both names. Prefer Juno with Polly though.

burgatroyd · 24/04/2015 06:58

Rita, Lara, Mary, Rosie, Wendy, Tippi, Heidi.

All would go with Polly

I prefer Juno. Luna is too trendy.

poppetina · 24/04/2015 18:51

It's Romilly Smile

twinjocks · 24/04/2015 18:54

Both lovely names, but I prefer Juno

Bowlersarm · 24/04/2015 18:56

Juno would worry me because I hate June and wouldn't want her to have her 'o' dropped off.

So I'd go for Luna.

BeanCalledPickle · 24/04/2015 19:53

Ha ha, where did Rommily come from? It does make me smile when people ask whether a or b is better and someone comes along and suggests Tippi?!?

poppetina · 24/04/2015 20:04

Sorry, thought you were talking to me when you asked what my Juno's first name was!

Madbengalmum · 24/04/2015 20:21

Sorry, but love polly, dont like either of the other names

BeanCalledPickle · 24/04/2015 20:30

Oh I'm sorry!! I thought you were suggesting a very different name for us! Romilly is cool:-)

Go for the name you prefer rather than picking something for a theme.
