Sister for Anna and Robert

Right - I think I've narrowed this down to:

Helen Zoe
Clara Victoria
Charis Aletheia

All views welcome! But am not keen to mix and match as these are already matched up, so if you don't like the combos please comment on first names... TIA

Clara Victoria is very nice.

TheoriginalLEM · 17/04/2015 23:12

Helen or helena is nice. I like the others (well not alethia if im honest it sounds lispy) but as they are quite unusual flowery sounding names they don't go with Anna and Robert.

FoamyOne · 17/04/2015 23:13

I like Helen a lot. It has the same classic feel as your other two names.

I like Clara too, and considered this for my youngest DD. But from it being a name which I never heard five years ago, I now know a few little ones. I think it's on the rise (doubt it will ever be a top ten name) and a bit more "now" than Helen, so consequently also more likely to date. It also doesn't sound very nice in some accents - eg West Coast of Scotland - some relatives I tried it out on pronounced it with a very hard "a" (as in "Apple") in the middle - 'Cla-ruh' as opposed to 'Clah-ruh' which put me off.

Zoe and Victoria are both nice, solid middle names.

I don't really like Charis. I want to, and I like Carys (which I know is a completely different name which just sounds the same), but for some reason it doesn't look very pretty to me. And Aletheia is going to cause spelling problems!

mathanxiety · 18/04/2015 06:04

I love Charis but I don't think it goes with Anna or Robert.

Clara is lovely too and would 'go' imo.

Bit I think Helen would be the best match for the feel of Anna and Robert.

JimbosJetSet · 18/04/2015 06:11

I love your names for your first two! If I'd had my own way naming my own two children, they'd have been Annie and Robert. And their sister, should I have had a third, would have been Caroline.

JimbosJetSet · 18/04/2015 06:13

But if the three names you have chosen, I think Helen goes with Robert and Anna the best Smile

Variousrandomthings · 18/04/2015 06:15

Helena rather then Helen

Variousrandomthings · 18/04/2015 06:16

Helen also gives the nickname nell, which is nice

BikeRunSki · 18/04/2015 06:23

Helen, the others don't sit well stylistically with Anna and Robert.

Variousrandomthings · 18/04/2015 06:26

I agree.

Robert doesn't sit well with Clara, however Clara and Anna do go nicely.

sweetpeame · 18/04/2015 07:20

Clara and Helen both go well with your other DC's names. I prefer Clara, would probably go with Helena instead of Helen (sounds very late 70's still to me). Don't like Charis, it doesn't go with Anna and Robert.

ErinBlockerBitch · 18/04/2015 07:23

Clara

I don't think Charis goes with the other two. Although it is a lovely name.

Bonsoir · 18/04/2015 07:24

Clara.

Helen is too severe to be sister to Anna.

GRW · 18/04/2015 08:43

Helen goes well with your other names, and it is rarely used now. I think in 2013 there were only 64 in England and Wales.

TheDeafeningClatterofDuplo · 18/04/2015 09:09

Consensus seems to be moving towards Helen / Clara... Perhaps not that surprisingly.

Jimbo how funny - I do like Caroline too - but DH thinks it's too long as we have a long surname!

I love your first two dc names and love Helen.

mathanxiety · 18/04/2015 20:57

Caroline would fit right in too.

IvoryMadonna · 18/04/2015 22:08

Any of the names you have chosen will be fine.

The names don't have to "go". Your children are individuals. The greater part of their lives are likely to be spent among people who won't know the names of their siblings, or even if they have any.

ishallnamehimsquishy · 18/04/2015 22:15

Before I read your post I thought Charlotte.

But from your list, Helen. With Clara in second place

SanctimoniousItches · 19/04/2015 20:50

Clara

I was going to say Ellen, then saw your list included Helen.

nooka · 20/04/2015 05:36

I think Helen. Clara to me sounds a bit too similar to Anna. Charis is possibly a bit too different to both. You have good taste in names, I really like Robert, and Aletheia too (although not if pronounced like Alicia, and I've only seen it spelled Alethea).

I do think that Helena Zoe works better than Helen Zoe, but how well names scan depends on surnames too of course.

ClarasZoo · 21/04/2015 16:03

I like Clara
Particularly when it's pronounced "Claire-uh"

Rhubarbgarden · 22/04/2015 12:12

Helen! I love Helen.

Tattiesthroughthebree · 22/04/2015 13:00

I like all your names, but think that Helen or Clara go best with Anna and Robert.

Anna, Robert and Helen - excellent names.

Also, "Z" is a very cool middle initial.
