Leo or Theo?

Just that really? I don't think we would put the long versions on the birth certificate (well I might but DH def wouldn't) and the middle name would probably be either George or Thomas. So what do you think?

Leo Thomas
Theo George
Theo Thomas

Another vote for Leo George

I know two baby Theos who live in areas where it's common to pronounce 'th' as 'f'. Both sets of parents regret condemning the boys to "Feo", at least for childhood. Something to consider

PeppermintCrayon · 16/04/2015 23:13

Leo. There are so many Theos around right now.

Ham69 · 16/04/2015 23:21

Theo. Best name ever Grin I work in a school and have worked in many baby clinics and toddler groups and have only come across a couple of Theos.

WalkingThePlank · 16/04/2015 23:24

Was just thinking of these names today as they were amongst our choices. I was thinking that Leo used to be quite rare but DCs school has a lot of Leos but only 1 Theo.

EcclefechanTart · 16/04/2015 23:27

I like Leopold rather than Leonardo!

DramaAlpaca · 16/04/2015 23:54

Like both, but Leo would just edge it.

eachtigertires · 17/04/2015 04:45

Leo. And I don't think people will refer to him as Leonard unless you call him that.

HairyMcMary · 17/04/2015 04:53

Theo

swimmerforlife · 17/04/2015 05:02

Leo is lovely.

JassyRadlett · 17/04/2015 05:22

Leo is absolute top of my list (less DH's) and your two middle names are ours.

Lovely taste you have there.

Choccyhobnob · 17/04/2015 09:55

Ah thanks Smile it seems quite an even split! Guess we'll just wait and see!

Just tried to convince DH to let me have Rafael as a second middle name, he said we may as well go the whole hog and have Leonardo Raphael Michaelangelo Donatello Splinter surname haha

I really like Leo. Not that keen on names beginning with "Th" as I think they're in danger of sounding "lispy"

Greenwing · 18/04/2015 23:54

Lion is definitely a better meaning for a boy's name than God!

IvoryMadonna · 19/04/2015 12:37

That's why it should be Theodore - gift of God. Then it's OK to shorten it to Theo for everyday use.

Artandco · 19/04/2015 12:43

Leo. Would have long name Leopold if you chose longer, as Leonard is pronounced 'Len-ad' so the nn is usually Leni/ Lenny.

timelyreminder · 20/04/2015 00:23

Theo George

goldylookingpane · 20/04/2015 00:26

Neither.

Leo makes people think of a Lion.
Theo makes me think of an old man.

changingagain · 20/04/2015 18:47

Theo is my top choice for DS but DH isn't keen. I'm going to keep saying it in the hope that it will grow on him Grin
