Playing the hypothetical baby name game

DP and I have been playing the "if we had a baby tomorrow, what would we call it?" game... Today we reckon it would be Dominic Ezra for a boy, or Norah Grace for a girl.

Does anyone else do this, and if so, what would your hypothetical babies be called?

I'm jealous that your dp will actually engage with this game - we "play" it too, but it mainly involves me makes suggestions and him rolling his eyes and/or coming back with sarcastic comments Easter Envy

Fwiw, today's hypothetical baby is named Rebecca

Ilovewheelychairs · 05/04/2015 17:16

Clara and Edward.

His surname is Hunt though and we had much hilarity when he suggested Isaac!

FoodieMum3 · 05/04/2015 17:17

Olivia and Zachary

strawberryshoes · 05/04/2015 17:20

Daniel and Emily

Pixa · 05/04/2015 17:23

Penelope is, by far, our favourite name for a girl. Henry for a boy, although we are now leaning towards William or Luke.

ChristmasEveSteve · 05/04/2015 17:34

Emmeline and Laurence

Thumbcat · 05/04/2015 17:38

Henry and Madeleine.

Magnus and Dolores.

at the moment i like Silver for a girl and Joel for a boy. DH however likes Roselyn for a girl and Frederick (Freddie) for a boy.

last week however it was Carmen for a girl and Jasper for a boy for me. and Rosanna for a girl and Frederick or Alfie for a boy for DH.

we play this game ALOT now that we have dd but didn't play it enough before. too many times we've questioned dd's name nowConfused

IWannaHoldYourHand · 05/04/2015 21:42

Robert or Margot.

OneMagnumisneverenough · 05/04/2015 21:50

Ilovewheelychairs - I think I'd avoid anything beginning with a C or any K sound...

My hypothetical babies would be called:

Struan or Gregor for a boy and
Mairi or Lorna for a girl

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 05/04/2015 21:56

Annabel or Edward

TempsPerdu · 05/04/2015 22:06

At the moment, Honor, Tabitha or Rowan for a girl and Gabriel, Rufus or Edward for a boy. Will probably change by tomorrow though!

cuntyMcCunterson · 05/04/2015 23:11

We play this too, we both love Findlay but surname is F.ord so maybe too many fs! I've now decided if we have a girl her nn needs to be Bibi, Deedee, Kiki or Ceecee. DH tends to roll his eyes a lot at some of my suggestions, I'm definately more adventurous in the name dept!

In a 'never in a million years' fantasy world:

Araminta Skye and Rafferty George

In a 'if I were actually pregnant' world

Natasha Giselle and Nicholas Patrick

Quasilulu · 06/04/2015 06:45

Wish we could decide on the real baby never mind the fictitious ones Hmm

hippoherostandinghere · 06/04/2015 21:11

I play this regularly in my own head. There's is no way DH would ever engage in this with me, he barely engaged when we were naming children for real.

Today I have decided my imaginary twin girls will be called Isabella and Arianna. Not sure of MN's, possibly Poppy and Lily respectively.

Boys are harder but I like Cameron and Dylan today.

MaudeTheMopLady · 06/04/2015 21:17

Today I'm going with Maude and Lucian!
Last week it was Georgie and Willoughby

Snowberry86 · 06/04/2015 21:21

My DH won't play this game.

My hypothetical babies are Philappa Hope and Issac Henry.

ArgentinianMalbec · 06/04/2015 21:29

DP won't play either Sad My girls name is Kitty (Katherine) and Theo for a boy. Maybe Teddy for short.

Number666livesaMrMIller · 06/04/2015 21:36

DH Will never engage in this game..

Today my imaginary twin girls (conceived after a lottery win, nice new big house) are called Athena and Romily.

Their little brother, conceived approx three years later will be Henry Rowan.

My older dc join in with me and regularly 'change' their given names!
