I dont instantly see Deirdre Barlow when I hear the Irish version!

Ailbhe is pronounced ail-va.
Saoirse is sayr-sha.
As far as I know the correct spelling is fionnuala.
Not a giant fan of Irish names that can't be spelled by anybody but a gaelgoir but also not as fan of americanised or anglicised Irish names e.g. caoilfhinn or keelin.
How about something Irish sounding but not complex e.g. Molly, kitty, Kate, Annie, that kind of thing?

Deirdre is a child of the 80s. There were five in my class at primary school in 1983. And my younger sister is a Deirdre. Not of the Mavis/Doris/Ethel vintage!

My niece is called Aoibhe (Eve)
Doesn't get more simple and lovely than that, imho.
