There are no names I love. DP loves Erin, but I warned him if he told people and they used her name before she was here it would put me off it, & it has. Plus they all say ErUn, which bothers me!

He says "its alright" or No, to every name I suggest but is not suggesting any himself.

Names I sort of like but don't love are -
Daisy
Ava
Grace
Mia
Ella
Robyn

But don't want anything really popular, which most of those are. We have DS who is Charlie & a boring 2 syllable surname beginning with E.

Please help!

Except for Robyn, the names you listed are popular, but not in the same league as all the L names. In nursery/reception we have
Isla
Lily
Lilia x2
Lyra x2
Layla
Lila
Ella
Ellie
Iola, (which is mostly misread as Lola)

It's really confusing and we're grateful for the occasional Patty and Niamh.
Anything without an L, please .

Alice, Anna, Eleanor, Poppy, Rosalind?

Sapat · 11/03/2015 00:52

Don't panic you have plenty of time. I have been uninspired for all my three and DH only made unhelpful suggestions. For our middle one I dithered so much he had no name for 6 weeks until we finally made it to the Registrar's. By which point we were no longer talking and family members had given up asking us if we had FINALLY named the baby. But of our three his is the name I like most and the name that suits our child most. It is ok to wait a little (or a lot).

Wow that is a lot of L's!

Oo I do like Georgia, Natalia & love Tori, but my niece is Tori.

Bella, Cara, Fern & Skye are pretty too, but I just can't imagine them being 'us'. I love Joy because it sounds so happy, but quite an old fashioned name I think.

Thanks all. Robyn probably my favourite & was the first name we decided on, but DP now says he doesn't like it

How about Rowan if you like Robyn? Or Merryn?

Try not to panic - it'll be much easier when the baby's here and you can see which name from your list suits them. Good luck!

Mrsjayy · 11/03/2015 08:57

chocfireguard · 11/03/2015 21:25

I think Esme has a similar feel to the names on your current list? It is also one of my all time favourites Grin

pilates · 11/03/2015 22:33

Rosa, Eliza, Imogen

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 11/03/2015 22:42

That was me Rockin - I know a Megan and Robyn who are sisters and it seems a good match

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 12/03/2015 02:24

Chances are OP she'll name herself

NaughtyRed82 · 12/03/2015 02:55

When I was pregnant with my daughter me and her dad couldn't agree on any, so waited till I'd had her. Didn't name her straight away, was so knackered and sore so was the second day that we came up quite quick with name that we both agreed on.
My mom and stepdad had their minds set on a name all through her pregnancy for my youngest sister and then when I got the text announcing she'd been born and her name and weight, they'd changed her name once they'd seen her! Sometimes you can't always plan ahead Smile

ineedsleepzzz · 12/03/2015 08:10

Some lovely names here that I hadn't even considered, will have to run them past the annoying DP. I don't mind not having a definite name, but would like a few to choose from

thegreylady · 13/03/2015 08:21

Seren Welsh for star.

gallicgirl · 13/03/2015 10:02

We were going to use Seren for a girl.
Also love Megan, Meredith and Ingrid.
I quite liked Jennifer too which just isn't used any more.

SylvaniansAtEase · 13/03/2015 16:13

Belinda with Bella or Belle for short

Merryn is good, Merry is a lovely shortening - similar feel to Joy?

Josephine is classic and gives you lots of lovely happy shortenings - Jojo, Jo, Josie, Posy. And it's not overly popular and long enough to go well with a boring surname.
