...out of Henry or Benjamin.

I love Henry but DH prefers Benjamin. Thought I would do a vote out of interest to see what you all prefer?! Smile

We almost had a Benjamin but opted for a similar name in the end.

You can shorten Benjamin but not Henry really....except to Harry (incidentally Prince Harry's real name is Henry).

Both nice names. Which suits your surname most?

MrsHenryCrawford · 20/02/2015 22:12

I like Benjamin more

Makemeanappledumpling · 20/02/2015 22:13

Like both- lovely names.

BunnyLebowski · 20/02/2015 22:13

Henry. Definitely Henry (love Hank if a nn is needed).

Benjamin is a bit....dull.

Bowlersarm · 20/02/2015 22:14

I like Ben.

AnythingNotEverything · 20/02/2015 22:14

Benjamin.

MammaTo2boys · 20/02/2015 22:15

Definetly Henry.

HainaultViaNewburyPark · 20/02/2015 22:15

Henry (I like the nn Hal). Although Benjamin is also a perfectly nice name.

Freefallingintotheabyss · 20/02/2015 22:17

Benjamin definitely. I only know one Benjamin out of my kid's nursery/preschool friends. He's lovely and sometimes I hear his parents call him Benny Smile There's A LOT of Henry's round our way. Benjamin is a lot more classy imo. I don't dislike Henry. It's just a bit too much on the popular side for my liking.

ThatBloodyWoman · 20/02/2015 22:18

Ben

cece · 20/02/2015 22:19

My Year 1 child has a lot of friends called Henry but only 1 friend called Ben.

DramaAlpaca · 20/02/2015 22:20

I'm glad I don't have to choose. I love both of them.

If you really pushed me, I'd pick Ben.

Becles · 20/02/2015 22:21

Henry tends not to be shortened but has other nicknames including Huck, Henk, Hank or Hal.

lightgreenglass · 20/02/2015 22:21

Henry for me!

bighairyspider · 20/02/2015 22:22

Benry?

Penguinsaresmall · 20/02/2015 22:25

Henjamin?

Penguinsaresmall · 20/02/2015 22:25

Wow! Spectacular x-post!

FatSwan · 20/02/2015 22:28

Benjamin

FaFoutis · 20/02/2015 22:33

Henry

ThursdayLast · 20/02/2015 22:35

Defo Benjamin.

WiggleGinger · 20/02/2015 22:43

I like both but I think Benjamin trumps Henry as it is less stuffy & can be shortened when older. I like Ben

Sophronia · 21/02/2015 00:29

I like Benjamin but not Ben, so I prefer it as a middle name so it can't be shortened. As a first name I'd probably go with Henry.

Darkforcesatwork · 21/02/2015 00:43

We have a Benjamin. Couple more in his year but he is 15. Haven't heard of any Bens in the subsequent years so not that popular ATM. Lots of Henrys though.

berrypicking · 21/02/2015 19:38

thanks all! we have agreed on Benjamin and Henry as his middle name Smile

Yay! Beautiful name! Do you know if you're having a boy? Can I ask what your girl name is?
