I'm just curious, which of the two do you prefer?

Luna in mainland Europe it is, yes.

Tywy

I'd pronounce it the English way. I've never come across a man in Wales with it spelled the anglicised way, only Meredydd, which I would pronounce the Welsh way.

poppet

I really like Romilly! Unfortunately there is a park and various streets with the name in the city I live in (South Wales).

I don't like either.

Aurelia is OTT frilltastic and Meredith is very stuffy whilst also being a more than slightly ridiculous boy's name.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 01/02/2015 08:14

Also really like Merryn Smile

Squoosh

Thanks for your input but that wasn't the question.

Meredith, I have extremely good reasons for liking Meredith as a name Grin

squoosh · 01/02/2015 13:13

HUGE apologies.

BrassicaBabe · 01/02/2015 20:05

We have a Meredith. Although wish I'd known about the Meredydd spelling Grin

We use nn Meri or Mez for a few special people.

Never been sorry we picked this name.

kally195 · 04/02/2015 11:20

Meredith. Our DD is Meredith. I am therefore biased. Lovely name though, and gets fabulous reactions.

reuset · 04/02/2015 11:26

Meredith would be preferable.

Aurelia sounds Disney princess and sounds too similar to areola (nipple area somebody mentioned already)

reuset · 04/02/2015 11:29

Aurelia is pronounced Or-ray-leah

That it is. I very much dislike the other pronunciation. It doesn't sound quite proper.

Hairtodaygonetomorrow · 04/02/2015 11:34

Meredith is a beautiful name! Aurelia is nice too, but I hadn't thought of Meredith and I predict a rash of Meredith's now!

Aherdofmims · 05/02/2015 12:12

I love Aurelia!

Alisvolatpropiis · 05/02/2015 13:01

I've been practicing saying Aurelia aloud, just to see how I actually say it. Turns out I do Or-ray-leah.

Which I agree, is nicer than than ee sound.

My daughter born July 2014 is Aurelia. We love it and she's not one of a million of others named something similar. We pronounce it or-ray-Leah
Good luck and go with your heart!
