We have agreed we want a name that ends in an "E" sound, and doesn't start with a J or a W. And preferably two syllables, Groan.

On the list at the moment (but nothing feels right):
Holly
Zoe
Gracie
Verity
Maisie

Vetoed: Just about everything else we can think of...
All the other flower names (poppy, rosie, etc)
Anything too unusual where spelling is an issue
Anything too popular in the top ten like Sophie
Anything with a hard "K"
Anything too Welsh, Irish or Scottish (Just because people will ask if we have any connection and we don't)
No gemstone names as we have one already

Can you think of anything at all? or have any comments on our current short list?

I love holly from your list

Was otherwise going to say lucy or lily but see they are already suggested elsewhere in the thread

Evie
Anneli
Heidi
Nancy
Connie

May be repetitions:

Phoebe
Chloe
Amy
Marcie
Dulcie
Kitty
Laurie
Annie
Marnie
Abby
Carrie
Cassie
Sylvie
Josie
Lottie

Of your list, I love Zoe and like Holly, Verity (breaks your 2 syllable rule!) and Maisie. Not so keen on Gracie, I'd go with Grace and call her Gracie as a nn.

unbelievably I think we found one we both like out of the lists posted here that falls within the terms (there was a lot of compromise to even get that far!): Phoebe

Hopefully that is the end of the matter! Though comments kind or honest are fine :)

Thanks loads for all your help, it actually made a difference in this case!
