I already have 2 children, Zach and Zara, now pregnant with wee surprise. I am worried that continuing the Z theme may sound a bit cheesey? Although quite like Zander or Zane for a boy...although I think I might prefer just going for Jude! Undecided on girls...Carla? Carmen or Zoe?

Help completely stumped!

I like Zander and Jude for a boy and Carmen for a girl. I wouldn't give my children names beginning with the same letter to avoid confusion with post, but it's up to you, you've started. I knew a family who all had names beginning with J (two parents, two kids). They called their house 'The Jays'!

loislines · 14/01/2015 19:22

I wouldn't worry aboit continuing the z theme unless yoi happen to really like the names. Jude and Carla are good names and work well with your other children's names.

myotherusernameisbetter · 14/01/2015 20:28

you could have Xander or Alexander with Xander for short and it looks like a happy coincidence Wink

Otherwise I also like Jude and all the girls names are nice though get the feeling Zoe has been added for theme potential only...

BlueStarsAtNight · 14/01/2015 22:45

I think I'd avoid another Z unless you're in love with it. I think Zander almost rhymes with Zara and doesn't sound right, and same for Carla. Jude goes nicely, and so does Carmen.

Qwebec · 15/01/2015 03:03

how about Zen? (I love this name)
I think if you already have two children with the same unusual letter why not continue if you like a name?

northdownmummy · 15/01/2015 03:32

I once worked with a woman called Zillah

CompletelyIncompetent · 15/01/2015 04:17

Xander maybe?

Gugglebum · 15/01/2015 04:52

Maybe a name not starting with the letter z, but a name containing that sound?
Xanthe
Daisy
Maisie
Azalea
It would still feel tied in without boxing you in quite as much as far as options go.

Qwebec · 15/01/2015 18:10

some one on an other thread mentioned Zinnia for agirl

Zachmeister · 15/01/2015 18:45

Thanks for all your suggestions! I'm quite keen to just embrace another letter of the Alphabet although I do like Xanthe - the sound of the name sounds much prettier than the spelling...maybe it's because we're not used to X words in English much xxx

I know a Zavia for a girl and think it's a lovely name. Also like Zander for boy x

OohLaLaa · 16/01/2015 20:58

What about Eliza for a girl? You still have that Z sound then.

mathanxiety · 17/01/2015 04:31

I like the idea of all the Zs.

Zoe is a lovely name imo. A few other Z names for girls:
Zinaida
Zoya
Zipporah

I prefer Zane to Zander. The Z in Zander looks as if you are trying too hard to make Xander a Z name just to have three Zs.

Palooza · 17/01/2015 04:48

I'd keep going with the Zs. Purely because I know a family who have a Lorna, Lewis, Leo... and Claire. She does mind!

Palooza · 17/01/2015 04:54

Zoe is a stunning name. I know a (male!) Zine which I prefer to Zane. Agree with pp that Zander looks like you fudged Xander. How about Zeke?
