Baby's name to go with Boyle

I'm struggling to think of boys names (girls names are so much easier) for our first baby - surname is Boyle and we'd like something vaguely Irish/of Irish origin. Any ideas? Thanks :-)

Do you have any names on your list at all?

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 13/01/2015 14:30

Not Lance.

James is nice?

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 13/01/2015 14:31

Seamus is better than James if you want Irish though.

LineRunner · 13/01/2015 14:31

Joseph Boyle

JBoyle · 13/01/2015 14:37

Thanks :-) I really like Joseph but my nephew is called that!

Or what about Maolsheachlann or Toirdhealbhach. Can't see any problems arising with those names.

AppleSnapple · 13/01/2015 14:45

Oh squoosh that just gave me a well needed chuckle!

JBoyle · 13/01/2015 14:51

He he - thanks!! The spellings can be a bit tricky can't they?!

I know a Callum and an Aaron with that surname

Blanketontheground · 13/01/2015 15:04

I second cormac. It's a name I've only recently heard as there's one in my daughters play group. Irish, unusual but not odd and lovely.

Purplehonesty · 13/01/2015 15:05

Doyle.

Or Cameron

Or surname is a mc scottish one and we told everyone we were naming ds something like Donald McDonald - most people were very polite and said ooh how nice! Only my mum snorted.

Tattiesthroughthebree · 13/01/2015 19:21

Definitely not Ryall though.

Lance Boyle would be brilliant, in a "Boy Named Sue" character-building kind of way.

RJnomore · 13/01/2015 19:59

Frankie.

It has the added advantage of being unisex.

Colman
Owen/Eoin
Lochlann
Malachi

Many thanks all for these suggestions - definitely some food for thought here. I am now leaning towards more classic and less Irish - am worried about the spellings...
