I say it as i-Zak but dp says it should be I-zook

I don't actually know anyone with an Isaac apart from a friend in the states and she flits between the too.

What would you say?

I say it with more emphasis on the I at the beginning but say it more like you do than your dp does.

I know two Isaacs, one is I-zac the other is I-zuc. I think its just personal preference. I prefer I-zuc myself.

WrappedInABlankie · 11/01/2015 12:51

I don't mind either one tbh I just wondered if there was a 'right' one

babyblabber · 11/01/2015 12:53

DoYouKnowTheMuffinMan · 11/01/2015 15:07

Eye-zuk

Guin1 · 11/01/2015 16:18

I think most Australians would say Eye-zak.

Teachermummy27 · 11/01/2015 18:50

Eye-Zack is very harsh sounding.

Mine is eye-zuk

dimdommilpot · 12/01/2015 11:22

I have only ever heard I-zack! There are a few around here and they all pronounce it that way.

RiverTam · 12/01/2015 11:25

definitely not I-zook!

I think either I-zak or I-zuhk, depending on your accent, is about right. To me, I-zak sounds a bit overpronounced.

But I-zook is just wrong!

ataposaurus · 12/01/2015 11:34

Definitely EYE-zuk, with emphasis on the I and the second syllable quite short. Never heard it any other way in this country.

However, I do know an Australian who says Eye-Zak, so maybe tends to be different in different places.

clairemarie5 · 12/01/2015 21:55

Eye-zak or Eye-zurk.. depending on your accent I think..
This is my dad's name and we say it the 2nd way.. or Ike for short.
