You don't need a middle name for the sake of it.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 05/01/2015 21:49

Why not just Lucas? Why hyphenate it?

VioletandRoger · 05/01/2015 21:54

Lucas James with no horrid hyphen

Hoot I don't have a middle name for the "sake of it" and never did I say that! His middle name is the same as my grandfathers whom passed away when I was 25 weeks with DS1 it's also the same name as my dP's fathers name. so please don't assume I'm chucking random names at my child thank you.

Violet just because you don't want "horrid hyphens" doesn't mean I don't hence why I asked I don't see why you'd come on here to give me no suggestion just your opinion on hyphens

None of dP's middle names go with Lucas hence the reason I asked for suggestions because we've already though of that. However bar you nobody has actually made anything remotely useful so thanks for your suggestions rooms

Hmm I'm entitled to my opinion and you to yours Grin

WrappedInABlankie · 05/01/2015 22:15

Nobody said otherwise Hmm Just utterly pointless going on a thread asking for help and suggestions and offering absolutely nothing

TinyTyke · 05/01/2015 22:20

I like both Flynn and James.
What about John or Charles?

WrappedInABlankie · 05/01/2015 22:23

The other second name of my son's "horrid hyphenated" name is John Grin otherwise It would of been that as it's my grandfathers first name.

Charles is one of my DP's middle name

Thank you though

VioletandRoger · 05/01/2015 23:00

Grin I think you'll find I suggested James non hyphened

cosmicglittergirl · 05/01/2015 23:06

I like Lucas-James
Or
Jacob
Joseph
Felix
J seems to go for some reason.

WrappedInABlankie · 05/01/2015 23:24

I think you'll find I added the hyphen because I wanted it in there, if I didn't I wouldn't of put it! Hmm

Thank you cosmic

Mynewnamenotyours · 05/01/2015 23:27

I'm also not keen on the hyphen sorry! But how about Lucas Benjamin?

AlfAlf · 05/01/2015 23:34

Sorry but I'm not feeling the hyphen either.
No one except you will use the full version.
Lucas is a great stand alone name, but hyphenating it with another name just looks and sounds ridiculous. Most people will think so; us vipers on the internet are just honest enough to actually tell you before you do it.

WrappedInABlankie · 05/01/2015 23:55

Everyone calls my son by his full name which is hyphenated! what a silly assumption to make! His nursery, friends, family, people he meets in the street, everyone! He doesn't even acknowledge you if you don't call him by his proper name!

So no it's not ridiculous. Unless you live in an area where everyone doesn't call you by your name and calls you something else it's not an issue. Hmm

I asked for hyphenated names that's it. Hmm

Jonah
Mark
Andrew
Jacob
Roan

I'd go for a really short name after the hyphen. anything longer sounds odd to me and bit OTT unless you are French

Preferably I think the first name should be shorter or gave a stronger end syllable. I don't think Lucas is a good name to use as the front part of a hyphenated name and would be better as the second part of the name.

Eg
Jack-Lucas sound much better to me than Lucas-Jack.

Even better would be to use Luke and not Lucas.

Eg
Cadan-Luke
Aran-Luke

If you really like Lucas how about
Lucas-Jude
Lucas-Paul
Lucas-Jo

Deerhound · 06/01/2015 02:05

I like Lucas-James best

Lweji · 06/01/2015 02:28

Lucas goes with Lucas. Plain.

There's already a middle name which won't go with Lucas.
Leave the hyphen out.

I know.
Still.
Leave the hyphen out.
