I'm thinking along the lines of Rowan, Jasper, Oakley, Cedar... Not Ocean, Bear, Leaf, Wolf, if you get my gist?

It will be for a middle name after either Jack, Rory or Jamie.

Thanks!

I know two people who have named their boys Sage.

dorasee · 04/01/2015 22:20

Sage as in the leaf or sage as in wise. Either way, it has a nice meaning.

Fagus (soft g) or Fraxinus? (Beech and ash trees respectively.) I'd have named DS Fraxinus but DH wasn't keen...

Or go a bit Nordic - eg Jokul (glacier - could be pronounced as a Y or a J, though Y is technically correct), or Stinn (stone)?

I really, really wanted to name DD Katla, after the Icelandic volcano. Turns out it would have been a great name, what with the colic and everything.

I quite liked Sylvester but couldn't get past Stallone...
I can't work out how to pronounce Fagus without it sounding a bit dodgy!

OMG sudden burst of replies, thank you!

I love Sylvan and had forgotten because dh vetoed it a long time ago... Maybe I could sneak it in...
Jack Sylvan...
Rory Sylvan...
Jamie Sylvan...

I like Orion but think it sounds clunky as a mn.

I like Beck but not sure it really sounds quite right in our name to me.

I also like Jay, maybe Jet, and Jasper
Rory Jay
Rory Jet
Rory Jasper...

And I like Rowan. It works better with
Jamie Rowan
Jack Rowan

If he was a girl I'd have Fern but I can't adjust myself to Bracken for a boy. And dh would definitely say no even though he claims no interest in the middle name!

Thanks, further thoughts still welcome!
