Isla's. And what age are they/part of the country?

Really like this name and just want to get a feel for how popular it really is. We're in South London and I know 2, but only one in London.

Thank you!

I don't know any and never have and I've been teaching for 15 years!

slightlyconfused85 · 04/01/2015 16:31

I know 4 age 4 and under in the South East. Dd is 2 and has 2 little friends called Isla and I know 2 more through other sources. It's popular here but it's a nice name so I can see why.

SilverShins · 04/01/2015 16:33

I know 3 in SE London. One is 3 and the others are 2.

MadeInChorley · 04/01/2015 16:47

It's very popular. Of my school friends and acquaintances, about 8 have a DD called Isla. Love the name though.

BalloonSlayer · 04/01/2015 16:51

I only know one and my job means I know A LOT of children.

Inmyownlittlecorner · 04/01/2015 16:54

I'm in N London. I know 2 but hear it a lot out & about at toddler groups/classes & activities for my school age DD.

pegster · 04/01/2015 16:58

I know 6 aged between 6y & 1y all in the Bristol/Bath area

Pooette · 04/01/2015 17:00

I know three. Am in London.

Ages 6 yrs, 4 yrs and 3 yrs.

Orangeisthenewbanana · 04/01/2015 17:51

I'm a bit surprised there aren't more actually! I'd seen it was popular on the yearly tables, but unlike the other very popular names listed, I personally don't know that many IRL! We're all Isabellas/Amelias/Roses/Jessicas round by us. The two Islas I know are 3 and 8.

My neighbours have a one year old Isla

lljkk · 04/01/2015 18:04

Southern England: 2 x 3 months, 1 x 8yo

marshmallowpies · 04/01/2015 18:05

I'm in south London and only know 1 (a baby of about 6 months).

I really like Ailsa as an alternative to Isla but of course there are going to be lots of Elsas now, so I wouldn't use Ailsa. (I know an Elsa who is at school and she hates that her name is suddenly really popular, even though she loves the film itself!)

Smugnogplease · 04/01/2015 18:10

I know 3 under 5, 2 Isla rose and 1 Isla grace.

NatalieHarding21 · 04/01/2015 18:11

Sounds a beautiful name, i agree with Bluesuedestiletto the name sounds feminie but not girly

BabyX · 04/01/2015 18:12

It's in the top 5 isn't it? Doesn't that tell you what you need to know?

DuchessofKirkcaldy · 04/01/2015 18:15

1 in her 60s
2 in 40s
3 in 30s
3 pre-school

Trinpy · 04/01/2015 18:17

I know one, pre school age. But her name is spelt wrong differently.

bigTillyMint · 04/01/2015 18:21

Just one. She is 16. SE London.

It is a beautiful nameSmile

squoosh · 04/01/2015 18:24

It seems to have rocketed to popularity out of relative obscurity and I do think this will make it seem quite dated in ten years time. A bit like its anagram namesake Lisa.

Bazoo23 · 04/01/2015 18:25

I know one baby about 8mo.
however i work in a maternity hospital and encounter at least one baby Isla a week its very popular.

RueDeWakening · 04/01/2015 18:26

I have one in my rainbow unit and one on the waiting list, so ages 6 & 4.

RueDeWakening · 04/01/2015 18:27

Sorry, am in South London too.

Nocturne123 · 04/01/2015 18:28

I constantly hear it in the playground . Northern Ireland here!

I may notice it more because it sounds very like dd's name . It is lovely though

Yorkshirelassreturns · 04/01/2015 18:31

Lots.
SW- 1x 10yr
W Yorks- 3= 6m, 18m and 5yr
London- 2= 11m, 4yr

It's super popular and I am not sure it really warrants it personally....

Bazoo23 · 04/01/2015 18:33

Oh sorry northern Lincolnshire here.
