My husband loves Alden, but I worry that it would be forever be misread as Aiden. Am I worrying too much?

Full name would be Alden Porter B (one syllable last name).

Oh yikes, I did it in your OP title Blush

Bovnydazzler · 02/01/2015 06:30

Yes, I saw Aiden too in your op!

Elllimam · 02/01/2015 06:42

Me too

ImFineThankYouSusan · 02/01/2015 06:42

Sorry OP, I misread it too. But maybe that is because both names are in the title?

I do like Alden.

albertcampionscat · 02/01/2015 06:42

Same here. I actually clicked through because I couldn't understand why you were asking if Aiden would be misred as Aiden.

Having said that, it's not a bad name.

chocolatecheesecake · 02/01/2015 06:57

Yes it would be forever misread I'm afraid. I have a DC with a easily misheard rather than misread name and it does get wearing having to carefully enunciate the name / correct others when first meeting people

whitechocolatestars · 02/01/2015 07:04

I think you've made a good spot that some might have overlooked. Yes it would be frequently misread as Aiden. Fwiw I actually prefer Aiden to Alden.

CharlesRyder · 02/01/2015 07:25

You could go for Halden?

DropYourSword · 02/01/2015 07:45

Or Allden.

OddBoots · 02/01/2015 07:53

I'm another who misread it in the title but it is before my first coffee of the day.

Bugsylugs · 02/01/2015 07:57

I misread it too sorry

GooodMythicalMorning · 02/01/2015 07:57

Yes did it here too. Sorry

SoupDragon · 02/01/2015 08:06

I assumed this was about Aiden misread as Aidan. I hate the -en spelling so it caught my eye.

TheFallenMadonna · 02/01/2015 08:09

I have taught a few and have never misread it.

EhricJinglingHisBallsOnHigh · 02/01/2015 08:15

I read your title as aiden forever misread as aiden, sorry

TheLastThneed · 02/01/2015 08:19

I mis-read it too. I know of an Alden, but I have a very good friend called Aiden, so my eyes saw Aiden.

shakemysilliesout · 02/01/2015 08:51

What about Alban?

DefiniteMaybe · 02/01/2015 08:53

I mis read it too but I have an Aidan and hate the Aiden spelling si could be to do with that.

Beehatch · 02/01/2015 08:55

How about Alban?

ArsenicFaceCream · 02/01/2015 08:55

Great name! Double 'l' idea might work.

littlesupersparks · 02/01/2015 08:56

I've got an Alden in one of my classes - I've never misread it - I don't think it's an issue at all!!

GirlOutNumbered · 02/01/2015 08:58

I didn't misread it, but then I also teach an Alden.
Also I teach a few with the surname Alden.

QueenofKelsingra · 02/01/2015 09:06

I didn't misread, but I used to work with an Alden. I don't think its reason not to use it if you like the name.

elvislives2012 · 02/01/2015 09:07

I didn't misread and I don't know any aldens!

TimefIies · 02/01/2015 10:23
