Hope?

I had my scan today and we are having a girl! I've been toying with a few names, Anya being my favourite but vetoed by DH Angry.

I like the name Hope, and after recurrant miscarriages it seems fitting also, but I know it's a marmite name. What do you all think? Those that may like it, can you suggest middle names that might go nicely? Thanks in advance!

I have a Hope Brynn Frances. I like Hope as a name.

MinnieM1 · 01/01/2015 14:55

I don't like it, it's a bit chavalicious where I'm from

RaisingMen · 01/01/2015 16:30

Are there a lot of Hopes where you are Mini?.

One of the reasons I like it is that there is nobody else I know with the name - think it comes in at number 200 and something on the top names lists x

I like it, Hope is a lovely name

CheapTrickster · 01/01/2015 16:55

I have only ment one other baby Hope who was a few months older than my dd at the baby weigh in group and my HV dd is called Hope.

There is a baby on coronastion street called Hope but i have never watched it and on a US tv show called the originals a spin off of the

vampire diaries.

I think the name goes better with old fashioned names eg
Hope Edith
Hope Meredith
Hope Theodora
Hope Isodora

CheapTrickster · 01/01/2015 17:02

My Hope also has an older Brother called Aaron George (pn. Air-run).

No im not a chav more highly educated dyslexic lentil waving normal British citizen Hmm

MinnieM1 · 02/01/2015 10:22

RaisingMen yes I know quite a few baby Hopes, and thy all seem to have siblings called things like 'Nevaeh' & 'Rocco'
Sorry to go all Katie Hopkins but yes it's chavvy where I live

RaisingMen · 02/01/2015 10:36

Food for thought I suppose! Isn't it funny that a name can be almost unheard of in one area, and really common in another?

KERALA1 · 04/01/2015 20:02

daholster · 04/01/2015 22:01

I love it, it's not chavvy here!

I love Hope Meredith, how beautiful.

VainVulva · 04/01/2015 23:29

Really like the name Hope

Hope Violet
Hope Clementine
Hope Beatrice
Hope Larissa
Hope Eleanor
Hope Saskia

squoosh · 04/01/2015 23:41

Well it's certainly better than Faith or Charity but I think it lacks a bit of punch. Too wistful for me.

Best of luck with your pregnancy!

I love it, I love it's meaning. Dd's middle name is Hope after the (beautiful) a Hope Valley in Derbyshire, where DH and I used yo live.

RaisingMen · 05/01/2015 21:38

We lived right in the valley for a while raising. Cottage at the bottom of Lose Hill. Not super far away now, but no longer local sadly.

ViolettaBridgettettette · 09/01/2015 03:43

Hope anya is nice

Hope Annie

birdofthenorth · 09/01/2015 11:54

I think it's beautiful, a name with meaning which is still very wearable. Though she may be Ope in some accents.

CruCru · 09/01/2015 21:13

Hope is very nice.
