We've pretty much decided on a girls name but really struggling for a boys name. So far we've come up with:

Sid (DH wants Sidney but I don't like it and much prefer just Sid)
Ralph
Reuben

I really like Ralph. Not keen on Reuben

Rivercam · 14/12/2014 20:25

Reuben

Bowlersarm · 14/12/2014 20:25

Really dislike Sid.

Of your list I'd go with Ralph.

CaptainAnkles · 14/12/2014 20:26

Sid, followed by Reuben.
Not Ralph. Really and truly.

AnythingNotEverything · 14/12/2014 20:27

I don't like Ralph - it means to vomit around here.

I quite like Sid. Would prefer a full name on the birth certificate though (which I know some think is daft).

I love Reuben. Think current bump might be a Reuben.

carbolicsoaprocked · 14/12/2014 20:27

Love Reuben, it's on our list. Not keen on the others I'm afraid.

MonkeyPuzzler · 14/12/2014 20:28

I like Reuben. It's a lovely name Smile

divingoffthebalcony · 14/12/2014 20:29

I'd afraid Ralph is a euphemism for vomiting for me too!

Reuben is my favourite. I don't like Sid.

DoItTooJulia · 14/12/2014 20:29

Ralph pronounced Rafe? Like that!

Not keen on the others

Trills · 14/12/2014 20:29

Don't like Sid on its own at all.

Iamblossom · 14/12/2014 20:31

Ralph was the name of the willy in Judy Blume's book Forever, so, no...

Reuben was one of the first guys I ever snogged who had terrible breath, so no...

I love Sid. Fabulous name.

loislines · 14/12/2014 20:33

I like Ralph. Never heard of the vomiting thing...

Threeplus1 · 14/12/2014 20:36

Reuben

ChippingInLovesChristmasLights · 14/12/2014 20:37

Calling for Ralph! (Generally used when people have been drinking!). Loislines - it's a very common, but regional, word for vomiting.

OP - what have you chosen for a girl?

scratchandsniff · 14/12/2014 20:43

Sid was the front runner for quite a while but starting to have my doubts.

Pretty sure we will opt for Holly if it is a girl.

I'd forgotten about Ralph being a term for puking. Don't feel it would be too much of an issue as I never hear it used for that around here. My friend has got a dog called Ralph though Grin

Reuben

BrightestAndBest · 16/12/2014 19:38

Ralph. Awesome name and much less common than Sid or Reuben (I know multiple small boys with these names).

GloriousGloria · 16/12/2014 19:39

Reuben is the best a good name that carries through from child to adult

Sid was the naughty boy in toy story and

Ralph is rude Ralph from Horrid Henry Grin

wadjet78 · 16/12/2014 19:40

Love Reuben.

Flingingmelon · 16/12/2014 19:41

Another vote for Reuben, I think of Judy Blume when I read the name Ralph.

Noellefielding · 16/12/2014 20:38

I think Ralph pronounced 'Rafe' is a potential burden for a child forever spelling their name. I know a lot of people feel it's a distinction to have a weird name but I feel a bit sorry for the child never being spelt correctly.
My ds's name is only spelt correctly 30% of the time, very irritating
