Elise or Emilia?

Asking for a family member :) Which of these names do you like the most? We were set on Elise but recently Emilia has grown on us because it's such a pretty name. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Elise. Emilia will constantly be confused with Amelia

Elise, very pretty and quite unusual.

I have an Elise We're always getting compliments on her name, and have only came across one other Elise in my life.

Both are lovely. I prefer Emilia but the name Amelia is so popular that the prettier Emilia will be assumed to be the same name. Elise has a pleasing sound to it.

Elise, the popularity of Amelia would veto the Emilia for me.

Or Eloise if you want a slightly frillier version

Elise. It is DD1's middle name so I am a bit biased.

I love Emilia, but think that she well spend her life saying 'Emilia with an E'.

Not that keen on Elise as I know a horrible (adult) one. What about Eliza?

I think it also depends on your accent and where you live. Some accents and places butcher lovely names. My name was certainly abused in east London :(
