Megan?

Still considering names for 2nd baby - don't yet know if DD/DS.

Considering Clara but also recently thought of Megan as well! Have only met one other, and notice that on ONS it's very much on a downward trend - so there hopefully won't be loads.

I think it's a cute, feisty name- and has a lovely shortening Meg. Also bucks the trend of names ending in -a or -ie so will sound a bit "different". What do people think? And do you know many?

Thanks

I think name Megan is a girl that is very stubborn but at the same time can be the greatest friend on the planet. She is loved by everybody and is hilarious! Megans are the best.

One of my twins is called Megan. My husband chose her name and I picked the other twins name. I really disliked it after we named her but it has sort of grown on me. We call her Memmie (nickname given to her by her twin at 16 months).

It's a good name but I know several -can think of four off hand, oldest is 11 and youngest is 5

It's okay if not a name I'd personally pick. I'd classify it alongside Lauren as being a very 90's name.

I have a nearly 19yo Megan - she's named after family (Margaret/Peggy) but I accidentally caught the wave of popularity in the US - who was Meg or Meggie when she was very little, but quickly let everybody know that she hates those nicknames.

Thanks all for your comments.

Think Megan is very much on a downward trend in the UK- which I like as there won't be loads coming through the ranks (hopefully! One can never completely predict though)

I have a Megan. I know of one more a little younger but no others. I like it, it feels a sort of bright, sunny but quite solid and dependable name in my head. Suits my little lass well.

I am due in a few weeks and i want the name megan if it's a girl, i think it's lovely. My son is 5 and there seems to be abuuf few megans his age at school but it is on and downward Trend so im hoping there wont be a lot of megans by the time this one will be at school.

I'm a Megan - Meg to my mates. I'm early 30s. I am secretly hoping I am the "impossibly talented and beautiful" person mentioned above....

My goddaughter is a Megan aged 13 and there are three other Megans in her school. My boss's daughter is an eleven year old Megan and my colleague has a ten year old Meghan.

Pretty common round here.
