Callie?

What do people think for a girl? I love it but unsure if people will mistake it for Kelly, which I don't like.

Other possibles are Winter, River, Anna or Ottilie. Middle name to be Rose.

Thanks :)

It's a very pretty name. Smile As long as you're not bothered by the Disney Jr. cartoon character of the same name.

CheerfulYank · 12/11/2014 21:28

I love it but short for something.

I never even thought of Caroline! I'm putting that on my list for DC3! :)

OpalQuartz · 13/11/2014 11:44

I really like Callie. I like it more than your other choices

IneedAwittierNickname · 13/11/2014 11:47

I like the name Callie. However the only callie I ever met was a bitch so that puts me off unfortunately.

Showy · 13/11/2014 11:48

Love it as a nn for Calliope. As long as you can pronounce it I suppose! My friend Calliope gets all manner of strange attempts in new situations.

Nocturne123 · 13/11/2014 11:52

Aw callie is lovely . I also love River

Spanielpuppy · 16/11/2014 14:12

Originally loved Callie although after talking to a work colleague with a dd Callie she said that she is for ever correcting people from saying Kayleigh. Always spelt wrong. That really put me off. After years of my own name being spelt wrong and my brothers name being mispronounced I now like clear sounding names and simple spelling.

I would go with winter, pretty but different

Spanielpuppy · 16/11/2014 14:14

Traditionally carrie is short for Catherine

Riverland · 16/11/2014 14:17

Anna Rose.

Definitely.

mymummademelistentoshitmusic · 16/11/2014 14:24

Don't like it, it seems unfinished. Winter and River are hideous, especially silly with Rose as a middle name.

SquirrelledAway · 17/11/2014 12:22

I loved the name Cally ever since I read the Follyfoot books back in the 70s. It was short for Cathleen.

I have two boys, I may have used it for my cat ...

TempsPerdu · 17/11/2014 12:30

Callie is OK, but not very substantial on its own. I prefer Calla or Calliope as a full version.

Anna and Ottilie are lovely. Personally wouldn't use River or Winter as first names, but both would be lovely mn options. Have to say, though, that they sound a bit OTT with Rose - like a sci-fi/fantasy character a la Dr Who's River Song.

Legionofboom · 17/11/2014 14:10

I really like Callie but agree it sounds like it is short for something.

From the rest of your list I have no strong preference except I dislike Anna.

Not sure about River Rose as a combo though. It sounds like the name of a barge.

weebarra · 17/11/2014 14:12

I know a 14 month old Callie, I don't think it's short for anything. It's a lovely name.

BlackberryandNettle · 17/11/2014 14:40

I really like Callista, Anna, Ottilie and River. Not keen on Winter at all, something about the 'wint' sound, probably totally irrational!
