Well, names generally follow a cycle of around 100 years from peak to peak. Yhe peak tends to be earlier in London, with trends then spreading to other cities and gradually out to more rural areas.
The wealthier classes tend to adopt names earlier and the trendsetters are usually 20 years ahead of the trend.
So by that reckoning, you should be looking at names which were popular in the 1940s.
Some examples:

Boys:
Roger
Nigel
Stephen
Phillip
Michael
Richard
Brian
Keith
Peter
Jojn
Kenneth
Barry
Graham
Alan
Geoffrey
Ian
Malcolm
Eric
Gerald
Howard
Adrian
Stuart
Terence

Girls:
Jean/Joan/June/Jane/Janet/Janice etc
Susan
Sandra
Deborah
Jacqueline
Linda/Belinda/Melinda
Christine
Diane
Ann
Cynthia
Patricia
Heather
Lesley
Brenda
Yvonne
Margaret
Mary
