What do you think? Not that it effin matters since DP has put the kibosh on EVERY name I've liked so far. GRR.

Like it, makes a change from all the cutest little girly names around these days.

I know a 20 year old Sage. Great name.

Tykeisagirl · 07/11/2014 14:00

You'll have to put up with people making jokes about stuffing. I'm guessing there'd be a lot of "does she have a twin called onion?".

SageMist · 07/11/2014 14:00

I love it. Preen. Grin

CrumpleHornedSnorkack · 07/11/2014 14:01

I like it

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 07/11/2014 14:07

I like it, and have to say didn't bring to mind onion/stuffing more nature/wisdom. I know a Sage and she really suits it, she's about 20, elegant with a hippy/boho vibe, super neat dreadlocks, into lots of quirky unconventional stuff and a super lovely kind person. I think it's a name that you'd grow into maybe, or maybe if your parents are inclined to choose a lovely hippy nature name you'll be bought up in that vibe!

saintsandpoets · 07/11/2014 14:16

Wonder if it's the same one OneDay? Which neck of the woods are you in?

purplebiro · 07/11/2014 14:18

Great, thanks - now to begin the campaign!

I like it - miles better than many of the girly, frilly names out there. Like how it means wisdom, as well as the nature connection. Think it would work better with a longer surname though.

Norfolkandchance1234 · 07/11/2014 14:34

I know a cinnamon and a chilli pepper. Sage is very cute I like it.

Whooshtheyweregone · 07/11/2014 14:41

Sage is ok but on a similar theme I love Sorrel for a girl.

tywysogesgymraeg · 07/11/2014 14:44

What if she turned out not to be sage though, and was actually a bit thick Wink. It's a lot to live up to, a bit like Prudence, Patience, etc.

I don't think giving children names of virtues is a good idea - just in case!.

cowbiscuits · 07/11/2014 15:15

I always thought of it as a boys name but it works fine on a girl.

I do kind of like nature/plant names. I think you have to be a bit of a nature loving, outdoorsy, boho, lentil-weaving (I mean it in a nice way) family to carry off those names.

Personally I dislike the taste of the herb Sage which would put me off, but I do like those Sage, Sorrel, Willow, Rowan type names.

Choccyhobnob · 07/11/2014 15:57

I really like it, DH would never go for it but then he likes Amelia and Freya type names....

Legionofboom · 07/11/2014 16:12

It's accounting software to me. Sorry.

tywysogesgymraeg · 07/11/2014 16:48

That too Legion. Bit like calling her Excel.
