Ruby- millions of them. Not in a good way. In the same vein as Poppy, Darcy etc.
Skye - "believe in better". Trying too hard, similar to Summer etc.
Maggie- Margaret is nice, known as Margaret. Maggie reminds me of the dummy sucking baby off The Simpsons.

Sorry, all rather negative.

ScrambledEggAndToast · 03/11/2014 21:09

Not overly keen on any but think Ruby would be my choice.

Skye is beautiful (though I prefer sky) I think it might be considered a bit Chav for want of a better word...but I still reckon it's a lovely name.

Maggie is cool but too close to Millie

Ruby is a lovely name too but very popular

TurquoiseDress · 06/11/2014 09:56

I really love Ruby!

Is it very popular at the moment?

Go for it if you like it.

Mutteroo · 06/11/2014 13:43

Ruby is very popular around here yet my favourite of the three. Don't like Skye as a first name. Love Maggie....unfortunately I still associate with Mrs Thatcher which would stop me choosing it myself.

Shosha1 · 06/11/2014 13:53

We have all three in our family. Couldn't choose between them.

OpalQuartz · 06/11/2014 15:06

Definitely Maggie. Love it.

DecaffTastesWeird · 06/11/2014 15:29

Another vote for Ruby.

burgatroyd · 06/11/2014 18:04

I like Maggie short for Marjorie.

How about Connie (Constance) Libby, Nancy, Betsy, Bonnie, Trixie (Beatrix), Hattie

BlueStarsAtNight · 06/11/2014 18:24

I like Maggie, but not with Millie, and not as a 'whole' name.
I wouldn't have Ruby with Millie due to the make-up brand, and Ruby also makes me think of someone in eastenders screaming it which puts me off it.
Skye is quite nice, would probably be my choice of the 3.

Maggie OK but prefer Margaret nn Maggie (gives more options when DD is older). Tho' have met many really admirable people called Maggie.

Don't really like any 'jewel' names, including Ruby, but that's just my own preference. Terribly hard for a child to live up to.

Agree with previous poster that Agnes is rather a good name. Until recently, quite popular in Scotland. Doesn't quite have the same 'granny' connotations as south of the border.

Where I live (rural Scotland) Skye is a dog's name. But Skye is a beautiful and fascinating island and if the place has special meanings for you, then why not ...
