we gave Claude 2 middle names and used up all our favourite boys names. I won't divulge them as this would completely out me (even more, it's not like Claude is popular).
we know we're having another boy but what should his name be?

I don't think it would be odd to have two names with a French feel to them.
I love Claude, and as it is so bloody difficult to find names, I would definitely go for the one I felt was right.
Could you have a dig around in your family tree and come up with some French heritage? Grin

i looked into our family trees after Claude and found plenty of Essex heritage and tonnes of farm workers and dock workers but nothing remotely French. i did however discover an earlier Claude which was satisfying as i could then respond to folks that it was 'a family name'
of your suggestions i love:
Emile
Hugo
Cosmo
Ambrose
Clarence
Linus
Milo
Seth
Otto
Enzo
Fabian
Ludo
Gustav
Serge
Marcel
Henry

Claude is a family name for DH. There have also been Vincents, Francis & Johns.

LOVE Claude! Out of interest do you pronounce it Clawed, to rhyme with poured, or Clohed, sort of edging more towards rhyming with road?

TBH if you call the second one some thing like Emile, people will probably assume you're French or have some French heritage, but as long as that doesn't bother you then go for it! You could mix it up a bit and spell it Emil, then it sounds a bit more Eastern European! Also love Gabriel and Ambrose. What about Nathaniel?

LittleBoyBlues · 23/10/2014 16:32

we pronounce it Clawed.
actually pronunciation makes a big difference to what name we choose as i can't say my Rs well so strong Rs are largely out.
Best Mate already has a Sebastian.
Chuffed to hear people liking Claude as i know it's not everyone's cup of tea (my mother included!) x
