Name help!

Husband and I have decided on Orla for our girls name. Struggling with middle names though so looking for some feedback! We love Orla Rose as his mother is Rosemary, however Rose is so popular! My sister is Lynn so we thought about Orla Lynn which means more to me but I don’t like it as much! Struggling. We have come up with:

Orla Rose
Orla Rosie (what his mother gets called)
Orla Lynn (my sister)

Others that we just like and have no real meaning:

Orla Eve
Orla Grace (Too popular?)
Orla Rae (Rae means Grace)
Orla Penelope

Thank you!

Orla's a beautiful name Smile

Orla Rose - I think it's lovely
Orla Rosie - Sounds a bit too cutesy for my tastes, and if she's called Orla Rose, she can go by Orla Rosie too.
Orla Lynn (my sister) - It's ok, no strong feelings either way

Orla Eve - Not too keen on it, just makes me think 'all about eve'
Orla Grace (Too popular?) - not a fan of Grace
Orla Rae (Rae means Grace) - This one sounds lovely, it's my joint favourite with Orla Rose
Orla Penelope - It's ok, the names don't seem to work together as much as the other combinations though. Penelope is really popular among people I know with kids, so I'd personally avoid it, but each to their own.

Orla is a great name.

I wouldn't go for a middle name with an L because it would be too close to the word oral.

BigfootFiles · 06/10/2014 12:49

What about Orla Lynnette?

A middle name starting with "C" or "K" is going to give you the sound "Or Lack".

moxon · 06/10/2014 12:52

Orla Elizabeth sounds neat.
Or you could go for Primrose or similar instead of Rose?

goodtimesinbontemps · 06/10/2014 12:53

My friends dd is Orla Mary

Orla Rose is great. Rosie isn't a middle name - it's a nn.

BlueChampagne · 06/10/2014 14:27

How about Rosalyn to combine the two names, and be a bit more unusual than Rose (lovely though it is)?

diddl · 06/10/2014 14:29

Orla Roseline?

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 06/10/2014 14:29

I really don't think it matters if a middle name is popular. If you like Rose I would use it. People hardly ever use their middle names.

Purpleflamingos · 06/10/2014 14:42

I agree with Rosaline/Rosalyn.

AccidentallyInLove · 06/10/2014 14:45

Rosalie?

soremummy · 06/10/2014 14:46

Louise ?

Sophronia · 06/10/2014 14:47

Orla Rosemary would be really nice.

HerRoyalNotness · 06/10/2014 16:10

Orla rose is really nice

Orla jane
