We have a DS called Charlie. I didn't even love that name, it was more of a "yeah its ok, don't know what else to call him" but he really suits it.
Don't know what I'm having this time yet but there are hardly any names I like!

Boys -
Max. But I was bullied by a Max so not sure..
That's the only boys name I sort of like! Help.

Girls -
Robyn
Rhiannon (DP doesn't like)

Mia, Grace, Millie, Chloe, Georgia are all names I like but they're so popular. Plus they will have the most boring surname on the planet so I don't really want a repeat of Charlie! DP doesn't suggest names just pulls faces at mine.. grr!

Joseph
Rex
Luke

Georgina (not as common as Georgia)
Pia (not Mia)
Gemma

I also have a Charlie (well, a Charles, but he's always Charlie).

I found boys names really hard too - there are hardly any I like - but as I also like Max I'll assume we have similar taste and suggest my other boy options (ended up having DTDs so didn't use them):

Andrew (though clearly couldn't have had Charles and Andrew or would have looked like a bonkers royal stalker)
Nicholas
Richard
Miles

Names I think are along the same lines as your girls' names:

Siobhan
Seren
Rowan

Of any help..?

PamShoo · 04/10/2014 19:55

If you like Max, use Max! It may have the connotations of a bully right now but when your baby arrives, you'll only associate the name with your gorgeous baby, not a bully :)

Other names;

Luke
Harrison
James
Lawrie
Louis

Sofia
Mali (Welsh for Molly)
Bella
Maisie
Alina

NumTumDeDum · 04/10/2014 19:59

We really struggled with boys names too. How about something used for girls and boys such as Rowan?

MrsFlorrick · 04/10/2014 20:05

Luke
Eric/Erik
James
Hamish
Harrison
Hans

I wouldn't use max if you were bullied by a max.

One (slightly obsessive) friend googled the names of successful lawyers bankers and other professionals and chose a name that way.

yougotafastcar · 04/10/2014 20:07

Thank you Flowers

Luke and James are nice and I loved Louis but I said it too many times and it started to sound made up! Felt like I was going mad Grin

I LOVE Seren, but DP just doesn't get it. He's very annoying. Maisie is lovely but I can't see a adult Maisie, in my head she's a lovely cheeky 2 year old

TheRealMaryMillington · 04/10/2014 20:26

MrsFlorrick · 04/10/2014 21:01

I know Grin. Said friend named both her DC that way. She is convinced they will both turn out successful now. Grin

DH and I have obviously failed as we just made lots of lists and settled on from the list once DC were born. Wink

TheRealMaryMillington · 04/10/2014 21:05

Has she been reading Freakonomics?

Why not reclaim Max?

lisaloulou84 · 04/10/2014 21:11

I thought I'd suggest my sons name as the only other boys name I liked was Charlie, mine is a Dylan. I hope we have a girl next time, we'll be screwed for names otherwise!

yougotafastcar · 05/10/2014 08:52

Nervous about Max because it was only 5/6 years ago so would hate anyone to think it was in any way linked to him! I think I'm overthinking this..

Joseph, Oliver, Archie, Leo, Jack, Thomas are all names family have used already unfortunately.

Dylan is nice, as are Rose, and Zoe, but DP says no to Rose! Wish he would make a list!

Love Erin but surname is E.. too much?

Meant to say thanks again for all the suggestions Smile

How horrid to be bullied. Maybe avoid it, you don't want a funny feeling in the mix.

I find boys names almost impossible! Took me 6 wks to name my lovely boy - we called him Rafe. I just love it so much, but it was very hard to find/decide on!! I need a boys name this time too and can't find anything I like again - so feeling your pain!

If DP says no to Rose, what about Rosa?

Isaac
Joshua
William (too royal?)

AmITwirly · 05/10/2014 15:12

LBNM19 · 05/10/2014 23:10

I've got a Louie and due in a couple of weeks with ds2 we are calling him Charlie Joseph took us a very long time to decide xx

squeak2392 · 06/10/2014 04:08

RE Max; it's a lovely name, so don't worry about what other people think about - you were the one who was bullied so it's your choice.

I find boys names really hard too :/ Right now my list consists of Jonathan and Rufus, with Edward and Jeremy as possibles.

Leah
Claudia
Eloise
Georgina
Holly
Molly
Polly
Lucy

Coughle · 06/10/2014 04:24

Mick, Mack or Rex instead of Max?

CheerfulYank · 06/10/2014 05:13

I love Charlie and Max, they're right up my street. I also like:

Will (I am)

Ben (could be short for Benjamin or Bennett, even Benedict)

Cormac, called Mac

Sam (I have one)

Finn

Oliver

Oscar

Theodore, called Theo or Teddy

Jasper

Hugo

They're all (mostly) common names, but I think that's okay...some names are common because they're nice!

CheerfulYank · 06/10/2014 05:14

I meant Will(iam) as in, Will short for William. Wasn't suggesting you name your son after a Black Eyed Pea :o
