Argh! Dh and I cannot agree on a boy's name for our soon-to-be-born ds. Can you give me your opinions on these please? In the interests of fairness I've mixed both mine and dh's choices in the list togetherSmile :

Edward
Eli
Calvin
Gabriel
Nathaniel
Sebastian
Seth
Raphael / Rafael
James

I think that's it for now. I'm open to opinions and suggestions Smile

I'm quite conservative with names, so I would choose;
Edward
Sebastian
James

I have always loved Raphael too, though not so 'safe'.

KatieKaye · 24/09/2014 22:07

I like all of these except Seth, Eli and Calvin which sound a bit like characters from a US TV show!

Delphiniumsblue · 24/09/2014 22:17

Edward or James

ButterflyOfFreedom · 24/09/2014 22:20

Favourite is Nathaniel.
Also like Gabriel & Sebastian.

Least favourite is Calvin.

Other suggestions:
Caleb
Noah
Theo
Freddie
Zachary
Xander
Isaac
Benedict

pilates · 24/09/2014 22:23

Edward
Nathaniel
James
in that order, not keen on rest.

MsCoconut · 24/09/2014 22:45

To confuse things, I like the near opposite of pilates' choices Smile:

Gabriel
Sebastian
Raphael
Calvin
Eli

In that order (but not the others).

TheNamelessOne · 24/09/2014 22:52

Hmm, quite a mixed bag of opinions so far then!

I also like Benedict that a pp suggested.

Favourite is Edward by far.

Anotheronesoon · 25/09/2014 06:40

I like Edward Eli and james. Others a bit too flowery for my liking. ( but then I like boring traditional boys names)

TheNamelessOne · 25/09/2014 09:45

I don't think we're any closer to a decision!

What a shame they don't come out with a name embossed on their foot or something!

I only like Calvin, Raphael and Sebastian (although hate Seb/Basty).

How about Dominic, Quentin or Reuben?

Guin1 · 25/09/2014 14:03

Edward
Nathaniel
Rafael

Also like Benedict

Mammanat222 · 25/09/2014 14:37

DS is James so I am biased.

If baby # 2 had been a boy he'd have been an Edward, William or Finn

TempsPerdu · 25/09/2014 15:44

I like (in order):

Gabriel - absolutely adore this - it's by far my favourite boy's name
Edward - lovely, but think it's having a 'moment' - have met loads recently
Nathaniel
Raphael - like this spelling best.

Not a fan of Calvin, Eli or Sebastian. James is fine, but a trifle dull. No strong opinions on Seth.

Good luck with choosing!

Siennasun · 25/09/2014 20:59

I like Gabriel but I know one (in primary school) and he says he often gets called Gabrielle, which he hates.
From your list I would pick Eli or Seth.
I like James too but it's very traditional and very popular which could be good or bad depending on what you want.

Aherdofmims · 27/09/2014 19:45

I have a baby Rafael so that is my favourite. Spelling was a hard choice!

I also like Gabriel and seriously considered Edward for ds.

For some reason have always hated name James, made worse by Harry potter stories with extremely unlikable character...
